I clicked the little button in the top of the ad... It's taken me nearly all night to get rid of the advertising providers name - hyperlinks started appearing in the text body as highlighted phrases! Not having a go as it were, more a caution.:nut:

 

Joris has installed a thing call viglinks http://www.viglink.com/ which turns words and phrases in posts in to hyperlinks to advertising sites, it has been on HMVF for a couple of years, this has nothing to do with clicking an adchoices button.

Anything else appearing on your browser due to clicking eternal links is probably down to lack off or poor adaware/popup blockers or virus protection.

To find out more about "Online behavioral advertising" on adverts you see on the forum & elsewhere on the internet click the Adchoices button in the top right of the 3rd party adverts and all will be revealed.

In the early hours of the morning friend & forum member Ray Tuson (ray109) lost his battle against cancer.

It was a pleasure to of known Ray, a true gentleman & fighter to the end. Our thoughts are with Jo & his Family.

We addressed this long time back.. Joris said said sorry minimum 4 letter search.. You can use google search like

"HMVF pig"

While we're at it, can you please update your indexer to allow 3 character search terms? It's bloody annoying having to use google for articles about things that use a three letter acronym on this site; something that the military tends to do a lot of.

MySQL fulltext search has a 4 character minimum word length by default. This can only be changed on the server level. There are also a number of 'stopwords' that are considered common and not indexed.

We did ask for our concerns to be listened to and nobody gave a d#m or came to talk just petty official's strutting there stuff in front of there mates whose command of the English language left a lot to be disired
