  1. Come on then Zoomer / Snapper, Who are you ? Which photographers are you? Plus is there any way of getting hold of Andy? The guy who took me out in the landy for the Red Ball Run ? Cara x Part of the Red Ball Express Clubmobile Crew.
  2. I remember saying to Enigma "we will have to put a post on HMVF, What did you do at W&P" he then took that photo and started playing his harmonica which set the perfect atmosphere as the troops moved up to the front line and past us, before climbing in I wish him good luck and to keep his head down, we then when off to hut down Tiger tanks. Perfect Day :-D Sorry Jack  Heard you were there, a pity we didn't meet. It was a beautiful experience!! Enjoyed ourselves to bits. :naughty: After the re-enactment we got tea from Berni (ta!) while parked before the audience. Difficult to drink on the move though but Hey, a cup of tea can be enjoyed anywhere. :cofee: Also drove around the arena for the tanks display, again lots of fun!! Hi Enigma, I think I supplied the tea, one of the guys on the crew offered me a ride on the Sherman aswell, but we were too busy to enable me to pop over , hopefully I will be able to get a ride next year. Typical, Mick gets all the fun. But I have some contacts within the arena for next year so should be able to get quite a list together of all the trucks/tanks etc that I will be able to ride in. This has to be the busiest I have ever been non-stop all day saturday and sunday !! Had an excellent time, just takes a couple of days to get over all the exhaustion. Take care guys, Cara x
  3. Hi Buster, I can also vouch for Kjell. I bought my WC63 and the GMC Workshop/Clubmobile from him. Lovelly guy and knows what he is talking about when it comes to the trucks. If he says there is something wrong, you know you need to deal with it. If he says something is ok, then it is ok. What he told us about both trucks was spot on. :-D Bought two beautiful trucks from him and if I wanted another I would go back to him again. We have also bought trailers and engine and other parts from him too, he has a stall at Beltring and is here again this year. Shipping and customs etc is easy. Lloyd put me onto Kjell and the guy to deal with the importation for me. Thanks a million Lloyd. :-D Good luck Buster, post some piccies if you can. Here are a couple of piccies of mine as they looked then and now. :-D Dodge Before Dodge After GMC Before GMC After Cara x
  4. I'd also be interested as the guy had most of the Jimmy's and the halftrack out for a photo shoot over the field behind the houses. We then proceeded to have a play around with the trucks  in the empty field. Cara x
  5. Cara

    D-Day

Mine are, the insurance from Footman James covers you for everything  Still won't be able to drive mine to work though as there would be no where for me to park her .... multi-stories are a pain. Cara x
  6. Great show. Shame you missed it Jack. Paul, sorry, only managed to chat to you for a while on Saturday night, I was also a little worse for wear and headed to bed. Didn't see you round the fire on the Sunday for the films? Colin, excellent to have you with us and hope to see you and Maddy again soon. Cara x Ps, Did Maddy displace a white/cream woolly hoody? We found one on one of the trailers just before we left, have it at home if it is Maddy's.
  7. Well, we are packing and leaving tomorrow afternoon/evening. Leaving plenty of time (Hopefully) to ensure we have enough time the other end for the Halftrack to drag us all through the mud if we can't make it ourselves  (Clubmobile and Dodge only have two prop shafts at the moment  ) Can't wait. See you all there. Cara x P.s, we will be there from tomorrow evening until Monday afternoon.
  8. Sorry, forgot the post had been moved to off topic, so you had to log in to see it. Here is another pic later that night of it getting lifted. BTW I thought it was Warrior Bulldozer Unit, not a challenger. Cara x
  9. Thanks for all the lovely comments guys. I think we have, I am sure Mick will have a look. One thing that came from the weekend, is that we definately have to get the stencilling done on the hatches side of the truck. We were really missing it, it didn't quite look right, very bare. Cara x
  10. Is this what you are talking about? http://www.wwiireenacting.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18669 Cara x
  11. Guys, You are more than welcome to meet up at the Clubmobile, but on the Saturday night we will all be enjoying a well earned night off down the bar. You'll probably notice us, we will be the rowdy lot letting off steam. Obviously, the wagon will be open all during the day whilst the public are there, so pop over and say hi. Not long to go now. Cara x
  12. So close and yet so far. Just had confirmation that the rest of the metal will be with us today and tomorrow, so looks like we might be in a position to get it finished !! Fingers are crossed Cara x
  13. Well, myself, Mick and gang will be there for this one. Excellent party on the saturday night last year, hopefully be just as good this year I'm not too hot on vehicle knowledge, but I am guessing you lot will be able to spot us. Cara x
  14. Nice picture, Thanks Hanno, don't think I have seen this one before. Cara x
  15. Was looking into one, but I think I have spent enough money already. Have you seen the prices of the doughnut machines ? Any donations welcome  Cara x
  16. Thanks a lot Steve. Yup, tea, coffee and doughnuts !! Maybe other things, but that would depend on what show it was. We also serve soup when we provide support for the Screaming Eagles training days. Discount ........ discount  We always ask for a one off fee from fellow re-enactors, but then it looks good with a load of GI's standing around the wagon enjoying a nice cuppa. But then again, we don't discriminate against the AXIS forces. Alas, she won't be ready for our first show next week but still hoping to have her up and running for the Prelude to D-Day event at the end of May. Cara x
  17. Well, i tried to get Mick to paint the whole thing pink, but he said no  so, I had to settle for a wiper motor instead. Hey, a girls gotta have some pink in her truck  Cara x
  18. Hi, Yes, I have the ARC in the Storm and a few others  But this is the main record of information regarding the Clubmobilers there is. Lots of good information and piccies in there. Cheers, Cara x
  19. Thanks Honey. Yes, I made him do it. But, if there was an original somewhere I would have given my back teeth (and more  ) to get hold of it. As there are no surviving Clubmobiles and as Mick has said the Workshop that I had been offered had already been stripped I did not have any problems in deciding to purchse it and to convert it. We have had a few people asking "What the hell are you doing?" but once you explain to them what the state of the truck was etc they are generally ok with it. We are not duping people into thinking that it is original otherwise we would not have posted anything about the conversion, we would have just converted it on the quite and turned up at a show with it. What do you guys think of us doing this? Honest opinions please. I am in agreement though, that if there is a vehicle still in circulation, then you don't make one out of something else, just because you can't afford the real deal. Thanks, Cara x

  21. This is the same guy who was sending us piccies of his GMC Workshops. Ended up getting mine from Norway instead. A lot cheaper. Cara x
  22. Sorry, I guess I forgot that this is an MV site rather than a re-enacting site. Just habit really. As I was re-enacting before I started purchasing my trucks. Cara x
  23. Karoshi, For a uniform which no-one has made before and which we only had photographs to go by, she had to source the correct material for us, with samples going back and forth between us, it cost me £280 for Jacket, Pants and hat. We had a few fittings aswell, to ensure that they fitted ok, with Della having to do a couple of amendments. Seeing as they are tailor-made, I think it was a great deal. Cara x
  24. Just wondering, who will be going to Horndean this year? 27th/28th/29th May Cara x
