Rowan, the North Staffs MVT are going in force again this year we should be
there from the 2/6/2006 till the 9/6/2006 camping at St Mere Eglise of course
you and your crew are welcome to come and join us but you've got to promise
not to get to drunk this year lol  and lead them Scottish guys astray
this offer is open to anyone who fancies joining us we usually get a good
discount from the ferry company and the camp site facilities are rearly good
and of course it is in walking distance to the town centre I think the yougest
going is 3 years old and the oldest is 3 score years plus **
Commander
I think that you are bashing the MVT over the calender which they have
no control over it is the area which does it for the year that deceides
what goes in to the calender not the MVT hirearchy just my 2 penny worth
Commander
Anybody coming down to the Malvern Show

Three Counties Showground Malvern

Ref
"Which one first"
Personaly I would put the torch to the heaviest first that way you will
get some brass back from the scrap man to pay for the gas to cut the
other one up
Commander
The only injury was to the pride of the driver of the Bren, the jeep
he ran into was pushed into the back of another one of our groups
jeeps which bent his front bumper out of shape on the tow hitch the
rear of his jeep was pushed in and the cross rear members bent out
of shape lucky rearly there was no cyclists or motorbikes in between
you could see the skid marks on the road where the steel tracks had
slid on the road , just remember to not have one following you unless
your in a GMC or bigger
Commander
Sounds like your Dodge took a lot less to put right
than the jeep which got smacked up the rear end by
the Bren gun carrier on the race to the bridge
Commander
You need a coil from a old type car i.e. not a modern one with electronic ignition
these tend to burn out very quickly a coil from a old mini would do
Commander
I endorse everything posted just got back home to North Staffs and I'm cream crackered today weather was great and a good turn out of veterans as well
the picture of the Dakota with the paras jumping is of the reenactors who pay
for this experience the ones from our group all landed safely this year 2 years ago
one broke his leg but this year he was back again and did it sucessfully sorry
I missed the rest of you guys but the Brit Para guys and their jeeps did the race to the bridge in Arnhem we also got pride of place at the front of the drop zone on Ginkel Heath mind you after having to get up at 05.00 hrs wash, eat, get ready
be inspected and be on the Heath for 07.00 hrs I was getting to feel rather
fazzed by the time the drop had finished but still well worth it
Commander
Thanks for the offers guys , but Cosby was this weekend
took the gun down and it just sat on its own with a couple
of .50 cals as its defence did offer it to the Brit contingent there
but for the responce I got I do not know why I bothered
show was a stunner can only get better one to watch
Commander
I will be taking our 25 pounder down to Cosby on Friday for the weekend and was wondering if anyone going in brit gear wanted to set up around it
Commander
If there is any other guys going who want to come to a school in Arnhem with us
on Friday afternoon to meet the kids and do a bit of explaining feel free to get in
touch this is something we started doing a few years ago after being asked if we
wouldn't mind apparently this was a first for them to get involved with the event
paticipants at their school a word of warning do not attend if you suffer from a
nervous condition I forgot what the sound of a class of screaming little kids was like
