So are we going to use messenger for now? Thanks. Tyler.
  6. I think to a new comer its only slightly overwhelming, but its easy to navigate and having it set out the way it is makes it easier to find a topic of your liking, also you just look for the "New Post" symbol when you arrive, so I think it has just the right amount of Threads. Tyler.
  7. Thanks Clive, for that info. Thanks. Tyler.
  8. Can anyone tell me what colour base coat was applied to the shorlands before painting, as I have discovered a White coat of paint under the 5 other coats of greens, also if anyone knows where I can find some front light guards please. Thanks. Tyler.
  9. Welcome, hope you enjoy the site and the company. Tyler.
  10. Hi, just watched the Scrap heap challenge, and in the scape yard was a Saracen (without turret), and a Bedford RL Cargo, both were in good nick from the looks of them, had a look at the credits at the end but it did'nt say where it was.
  11. Hi Paul, I take it you have power at the caravan park, if so I have an exellant device that I use to cover the SWB Landy, its called a Carcoon, its basically an inflatable cover/garage, heres some pics of one: you can have them made to any size you want, they will remove any moisture from the car if its wet etc, UV resistant, compleatly maintinance free. What it does is 2 small fans run off a car battery and the mains power tops the battery up, so 1 fan expells the air from the carcoon and 1 pumps air in, so the power usage is hardly noticable. I dont have anything to do with the company, but I have had one for about 5 years, its an outdoor one,and it works excellantly mine was about £340, heres their site. http://www.carcoon.co.uk Tyler.

    CHAT

Hi Richard, Ive just done mine so I am now on, Windows messenger is on most windows systems, so I would imagen that most people have it, its a good idea about using it untill a CHAT seaction is up and running. Tyler.
  13. He knows his subject, what Richard said is correct as batterys are built for cycles, not to be fully charged all the time. Hope that helps. Tyler.
  14. This is where I keep mine: Shorland: back garden. SWB Landy: Carcoon. Pink panther rep: storage(an old converted chicken shed). Morris Traveler: storage(an old converted chicken shed). Bike and side car(in bits): garden shed. Polsten Quad: Still at the dealer's. The storage costs me £25 a month for as many vehicles as I want to put in there theres still space for 5 more, has power to it, so once the Shorland is finished that'll go in along with the SWB Landy and the sidecar combo and the Polsten Quad. Tyler.
  15. Not strictly to do about this topicI know, (has anyone spotted the homing pigeon). Tyler.

Hi, Jack, just wondering if theres any news on the CHAT yet? Thanks. Tyler.
  20. This year at a show I was talking to a Bren gun carrier owner and driver, and asked him how come he took part in the convoy though the local villages during a show, and he stated that "as long as the vehicle is under 4 tons its legal to use metal tracks on the road", hope this helps clear things up. Tyler.
  21. As long as the vehicle is under 4 tons its legal to use metal tracks on the road, just like a bren carrier.
  22. Hi, here's mine and a link to my photo albam: http://shorlandmk3restoration.blogspot.com/ http://photobucket.com/albums/c175/landyboy/ Thanks. Tyler.
  23. Right here it is: Right heres my first post then, basicly starting off about the condition I purchased the Shorland in, current history I know, so here goes: I bought the vehicle in early june 2005 from ebay for £99, Its a standard mk3 APC it had done 32,000mls had one previous owner and has the original 2,600cc engine still, the rolling Chassis and engine were supplied to Short and Harland in Northern Ireland on the 28th of June 1972, making this vehicle Tax exempt. The chassis number of this one is 94200136A and the serial number is AC3/RH/P/Q54, I have the heritage Certificate to prove her pedigree, but she is as yet, unregistered. The previous owner fitted a brand new Carburetter, new plugs points coil and leads, and she now runs beautifully, the gearbox works well in high and low. The clutch however is seized as she stood for a long period of time, I have been able to roar around the yard by using the engine revs to time the gearchange. The vehicle is currently partially stripped as the previous owner was going to remove the tub in order to carry out minor repairs to the chassis, which overall is very good, just needing blasting and repainting. This vehicle has been used in a urban warfare roll, empty shell cases and machine gun bullet clips were found whilst cleaning her out. By the begining of the 2006 summer the vehicle will be finished, except for a few hard to find bits (gunners seat, gun cradel, turret preiscope, smoke dischargers, searchlight, turret ring and radio) and will atempt to find some more history about it, aswell as attending as many shows as possible (approxamately 30-40) a year. Before the restoration was started: ^Passengers footwell only the botton part has gone which will save on work^ ^ "A quick fix" the radiator had been removed by the seller, so to move it to the back garden we needed the rad back on and it worked so well its still like it for now.^ I'll post some on here when ever I update the Blog or Pic albam (thats tomorrow then), http://shorlandmk3restoration.blogspot.com http://photobucket.com/albums/c175/landyboy/ Thanks. Tyler.
