  1. Good thought John but not for animal use.
  2. Not in the trees or bush I'm afraid :-D
  3. Wooden frame & a pair of stretchers - yes well done! Just got to work out how it was used.
  4. We are indeed Wally, very good & even after I removed all the yellow from the pages :-D
  5. Not a fridge Lauren & this is not at ground level (or below)
  6. Bernard the veg/spider like representations are actually something more structured & are of the same material. The stuff at the side edges are facing you edge on & go out of shot. I have not trimmed this, it is the extent of the image. The stuff further in is facing you flat on. So it is not a drying chamber.
  7. Andy 9.00 x 16 RF 25 psi front & rear in my 1941 book.
  8. Interesting link there Tony but its not that. Incidentally this unrelated thing pre-dates that.
  9. Neither of those Lauren. If it helps, the picture represents about 7' 6" x 4' 10"
  10. That's another line of thought Lauren but its not that.
  11. I see what you mean Tony but its not that.
  12. Does look that sort of thing Wally but its not that.
  13. Looks plausible Rick but its not that
  14. Good bit of thinking Jerry but its not that.
  15. Looks like that sort of thing Bryan, but its something else.
  16. Les I can't give you a straight answer as I have no experience of them, but this may help you decide. CIS = Cut In Speed V = Ventilated C = Totally enclosed
  17. This has cropped up elsewhere, on a Land Rover forum I think. My conclusion there was that it is way of recording that the colour was not known when the card was filled out. That was preferable to leaving it blank suggesting that it was an omission of error. Similarly I have seen a record card showing an Asset Code of 0000-0000.

  19. Pretty much Charlie the second element is officially the finish, gloss or matt but within that the pattern is included. It is defined in the Materiel Regulations for the Army. Gone to bed I'll post up the key tomorrow.
  20. Sean yes what you say is correct. It tallies with my UHB & embarrassingly with Austin's own Parts List which I'm sorry I misread. A combination of dyslexia & new peculiar keyboard
  21. Tim thank you for posting those. In general I have no particular interest in steam as so often seen in terms of showman's engines, but to see these vehicles steaming of to war as it were complete with their crews in uniform I found deeply moving. Thank you.
  22. Lauren here is one of threads covering the colour issue for water jerrycans. http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?25311-Metal-Jerry-Can-for-water
