  1. Just shows what a knee jerk reaction, this bill is, John. Isn't it about time the government did something positive, for all us law abiding Taxpayers,.....or are we too much of a soft touch. I mean, if I was bent upon robbing anyone, I'm sure I'm going to be law abiding, in the first place................................. When you can,(if you want to,)buy a hand held cross-bow, from the local market, which, if anyone's used one, with a little addaption, can become a quite effective Quiet weapon, or 'guns', that are reallistic enough to cause panic and fright, to the majority of the population, as far as I can see, will not be affected. As you, quite rightly asked, when was a deact 6pdr, bren, or Lee Enfield .303, or, indeed, any of a range of weaponary, currently fielded as a typical Mil Rally, or re-enactment. ?? :? Andy

  12. Well, having just watched the 2nd part of The Last Tommy, what can I say,........I had tears in my eyes, one moment, and was laughing out loud, the next. Well Done BBC. Probably the best programe, of its type, thats been shown; and one that, if released on BBc DVD, I'll certainly buy. Even the detail of the re-enactors LOOKED right,-although I'm no expert. Very well done to all concerned, and I'll see if I can say same on BBC web site tomorrow. Anyone else see it ?? All My Respects to the surviving Vererans;..........HERO's all. Andy

  15. Ashley, Tank Transporter in Bus Shed ????????? Is this an 'in' joke,...........................or a good tale ????????????? Agreed with your and Karoshi's thoughts regarding Jacks Red GMC - glad to see it's comming on, Jack. All the best, to all. Andy
  16. Berni, After the Battle, latest issue (no 130), mentions this brave guy . As you have said, Sgt Bruce Hancock, on a solo training flight in an Anson, rammed a Heinkel bomber which was attacking Windrush areodrome, causing it to crash, killing the entire crew, and himself. A plaque, in Windrush Church, states; To The Memory Of SGT Pilot Bruce Hancock RAFVR Who Sacrificed His Life By Ramming And Destroying An Enemy Heinkel Bomber While Flying An Unarmed Training Aircraft From Windrush Landing Ground During The Battle Of Britain. 18 August 1940. A Very Brave Man, Simply Remembered. One Of The Few. (although not remembered, for such) Andy

  19. That Sounds about Right.......... Andy
  20. Thats one 'interesting' site, Nick. Do any of these sorts of area's get left 'as is', as a future museum, for generations to come see. ? Or are the military getting rich on selling off the asset's  I guess,if like this country, paid for by the tax payers. There was news of a bunker/underground command center in this country, for sale,on the news the other day, never been used, chairs and tables had not even been unwrapped, the only way to travel, with it being so vast, was by (electric ?) rail-less 'train'type vehicle. This, most certainly, WAS paid for by our taxes, - bet the moneys raised by the sale, wount come back to us tax payers   Andy
  21. WHOOPS, Should have added Friends of Tank Museum in my posting. Thanks for jogging my memory, Clive Andy
  22. Hi Matt. Not had a lot to do with Graves, but certainly, both Owen and Sassoon, when describing, through verse, the world they were inhabiting, and sights they were seeing, does tend to make a mockery of the idea that war is 'clean',- promoted by certain film producers(granted, mostly of latter conflicts) Have you found any WWII war poets ? Andy
  23. Jack While doing a search on Upottery airfield, I came across http://www.atlantikwall.co.uk Only had a brief look-see, but looks interesting, from the airfields locations sides of things. Andy
