  1. A Lexus going too fast in the opposite direction
  2. Nice to find some more pics of this old truck. Madrat dug this one out too: http://ccmv.aecsouthall.co.uk/p309571614/h104EB63C#h104eb63c This is how the poor old thing looks today:
  3. The Shopland Sawmills Timber Tractor. Built 1942 as a gun tractor, then almost immediately converted into a workshop truck to service the lorries taking prefabricated houses down to Portsmouth/Southampton. Bought by E H Shopland from the Army in 1946, rebuilt 1947 by Automower and 1949 by Douglas, when the chassis was chopped and shortened. The workshop body was removed and used as a garage. Worked for the sawmills until the late 1970s, by which time it was rather battered. Parked up in the shed and not dragged out again until the late 2000s, when it was given a bit of love and serves as one of the fleet again (albeit no more winching tree stumps!)
  4. Recently a group of lads in Sweden converted an old Volvo to run on wood gas and went on a road trip: http://www.vedbil.se/indexe.shtml "The car took us 5420 km in 20 days, using 7 square metres of wood. "
  5. It was a pleasant surprise to look up and see a formation of WW2 aircraft pass over the M25!
  6. I wonder what will become of it now?
  7. From photos they appear to be a little bit similar in construction to Matador workshop bodies (although not identical).
  8. If you are in need of dimensions, I know a chap who has a couple of cabs that aren't mounted to trucks we could measure up if that's any help?
  9. Ah yes I see, sorry was looking on a mobile phone screen before and glanced at the pic of the cab.

  16. Hello boys and girls, I am Corwin (Corbs), I hail from zummerzet and now live in Bristol. I'm a film and video producer by trade but have long held an interest in military vehicles and was a WW2 US Army re-enactor for several years before cars and university muscled in. I help out with this: http://digforvictoryshow.com/ and this http://shoplandcollection.com/ ... with my friends, and also volunteer here: http://bristolharbourrailway.co.uk/ and occasionaly here: https://www.youtube.com/user/AVRbitton I drive a 300TDi Defender which gives me my personal fix of rust and stubborn bolts, but I do help out with other people's vehicles. At the moment we are preparing for 2015's Dig For Victory Show, so there's always plenty to do! Hope to spend many enjoyable hours procrastinating on here!
