RAF cooking equipment

Recommended Posts

Unusual topic. I wonder what manuals anyone has on RAF cooking equipment.

These images are on the IWM website, of cooking stoves for the 6 gallon containers, which can be used to cook food whilst on the move. The idea is that the food is ready for a predetermined food stop, to save hanging around waiting for hot food.

I've contacted the RAF museum, and what they came back with is

"Dear Sir,
Thank you for your enquiry, there was a single burner to heat the 6 gallon cooking vessels, although the AP does not show the stove tops, it does illustrate the burner, please see below image, which comes from AP2328, Vol.1 ‘Cooking vehicle’."

So I wondered what RAF manuals or other photos might be out there.

Thanks
