chevpol Posted April 8, 2021 Share Posted April 8, 2021 Evening all, just a quick question, I have recenty purchased a 2008 Vauxhall Astra estate, ex white fleet, ex RAF Police, and I was wondering if anybody, by chance, has a photo of it at Cosford, or Shawbury, I am assuming she served at either of these 2 bases as all the contracted repairs etc were carried out at Telford. The original registration was DU58BWH. The 2 interior photos show where the lightbar and aerial holes were filled in on decommisioning, and happiliy discovered when I removed the roof lining. Paul Drake Posted April 28, 2021 Share Posted April 28, 2021 You may find that it may have served anywhere in the country, but went to Telford as there was an Army Base Repair Organisation at Donnington. It is (or was) standard practice to send similar equipments to one base for repair and overhaul. Armour to Ludgershall, aircraft to St. Athan, and so on. Telford is now run by Babcock as a contractor to the Defence Support Group. Of course someone may be able to help you more with your question. chevpol Posted May 17, 2022 Author Share Posted May 17, 2022 The 1st Military Event I took the Astra to (as apposed to a 999 event at Stretford Fire Station) was the Helicopter Museum show beginning of April.
