Gaz 69 positive or negative ground? + some other questions

Recommended Posts

The Swedish Tank Museum recently received a GAZ 69, a 2 door radio vehicle from Czech republic.

This vehicle has two generators but only one battery.

Are these both generators 12 volts?

If you look at the battery cables ant the connectors they are positive ground, but as far as I have found on wiring diagram on the net GAZ 69 had negative ground. Is positive ground normal for a GAZ 69 radio version?

We do not want to try with the battery connected the wrong way.

There are two petrol tanks, one big one under the vehicle along the frame on the left side and one smaller under the front passenger seat. Is this normal for a radio version?

Thanks for your help,

Stefan Karlsson, Museum Director
