War time willys jeep.

Taking a drive down the lane near are yard which I've never been down before was a willys jeep stood up in a leen to shed looks to be an older restoration but looks in good condition just has loads of rubbish around ect all in the colours and webbing still on it just looks stood up :( the man won't sell it, as much as you bid him.

What I really wanted to no is how could you tell it's wartime? Really curios.

One way is to look for Hotchkiss data plates or later Hotchkiss wheels with less nuts than the original. Some Hotchkiss (if not all?) had a number stamped in to the chassis just behind the front bumper - on the left had side as you face the vehicle.
