Niels v
It looks like one from Israel, it has machine gun mounted it windscreen, interesting with the Scammell in the background. http://www.israeli-weapons.com/weapons/vehicles/armored_personnel_carriers/m3/m3.html Edited February 23, 2012 by Niels v
rnixartillery
I thought the same but the scammell threw me a bit. Interesting to think the Israelies run them ! The other thing to note is that the 6 pdr has a welded shield which would make it Australian made. The Israeli forces used the 6 pdr and 57mm guns for a very long time and even manufactured parts and ammunition under license. Rob...............rnixartillery. Niels v
Could the Scammell have been a part of the british units in Palestine after war
Tony B
There is a film concerning the Israli war of independence that depicts an ambush of armed vehicles by Israli Half Tracks armed with small artillery pices and 20mm Orleikons. mcspool
Definitely an Israeli conversion. A number of these half tracks, but less the guns (sorry Rob!), were in a HMV dealer's yard at least until recently.
