How high/what clearance do you need to get one comfortably into a garage? We have a garage which is in very poor condition and needs replacing. I have problems getting the jeep in and out, neeeding to take the hood off to get in and out. During the spring this year I sowed the seeds of trying to convince Mrs general as to why we should have a Command Car and how our lives would be enriched if we had one!! We are having plans drawn to replace the existing building with a new one, it would be silly not to build the new one with dimentions to fit anyfuture purchases!! If you have any ideas as to the height required and how to swing the purchase and stay married-that would be great as well!! Thanks in advance, Tim. kpu121265 Posted September 10, 2011 Share Posted September 10, 2011 According to 'The Book' Standard US Military Vehicles, published in 1943, the height of the 3/4T Command car is 81&1/2" which can be reduced to 62&1/4" with the hood down and the windscreen folded down (and 75&1/2" wide by 175&5/8" long).
