Royal Engineers marking on FFR S2a mk8

i've just finished to restore my Rover 8.

unfortunatly i haven't the military plate and so i don't know the unit in wich it work!

 

today, i start to re-analize the photo of the restoration and i saw that in the rear there was a square blue:

 

 

reading emlra article in "Painting and Marking Post War British Vehicles (part 1 of 4)" i saw that on "Formation Signs" there are RE: Coloured backgrounds blue.

 

do you know if it is refered to the square that is on my car?

I cant speak about too much but I can tell you that the sticker beside the antenae mount is WRONG it is from a much later / current Land Rover and has no place on your vehicle.

 

The door crest, hmmmm not sure what to say there, might be appropriate if it was a Regimental recruiting vehicle but otherwise it is out of place.

 

The Bridge classification would have been an actual plate at that time i am fairly sure.

 

The airborne weights look a bit out of place, are you trying to mark it as Para Engineers hence the Pegasus on the front?

 

Explain a bit more what you are trying to do.

 

Why do you have civilian lights and civilian valence at the front?

 

You also need a pintle hitch for the rear cross member

i'm sorry, but i'm from italy and i don't understand something you said.

 

i will remove the antenna sticker;

 

the civilian light are temporary (in italy there are problem for light without omologation code)

 

i'm trying to mark it as Para Engineers (Royal Engineers on Airbone Div) hence the Pegasus on the front.

So i suppose that use the Para logo at the frot will be correct. isn't it?
