  1. I have a friend who makes them for me, i dont know how much you were planning to pay, would you let me know. If he can do it for that money it 'WILL' be better. I didnt bother finding out the price for either company because i had seen both products before and didnt want either, I certainly didnt want a washer partly welded to the end of the tube off centre ! I will find better pics if you like, (and with less germans)
  2. I can run the chieftain out whenever you want for pics or whatever, you only have to ask click on the link below for some pics https://www.facebook.com/HeywoodTanks/photos/pb.153327514857533.-2207520000.1404406973./187395184784099/?type=3&theater https://www.facebook.com/HeywoodTanks/photos/pb.153327514857533.-2207520000.1404406927./226142344242716/?type=3&theater Regards Dale
  3. Welcome Ted, Where are you based ? What would you enjoy working on, Chieftain engines, main or genny. can you make brakes work on a dyson trailer, I could go on and on but welcome anyway Regards Dale
  4. here's a short video that might answer a couple of questions
  5. Re Cent Yes you are right with that, i know i'm gonna whimp-out and try an Abbot first
  6. Another trailer pic for your perusal, a hot water carrying trailer
  7. Its the Heywood 1940;s day all the usual suspects will be there, and a drive around town, then back to the farm for camp overs etc
  8. Your absolutely right, i took a look at the plate today and heres a pic
  9. I dont know, i'll take a look around. My concern is that it got a bit carried away last year, and it seems to be getting bigger for this year, i am already losing track of who is coming and what they are bringing. In total there is 100 acres, and we are going to be using a lot more of it for driving this year rather than just a big parade oval. we also have a couple of fly by's arranged, waiting to find out if the chinook is bringing his hummvee again ?
  10. We are having a little get together june 28-29 and 1st weekend in august, check the details at https://www.facebook.com/HeywoodTanks come down and bring something big and green !
  11. With a Chieftain on the dyson, sounds like a plan
  12. I have tried reversing this trailer whilst attached to a 432, it would have been quicker to disassemble the thing and rebuild it in the next field blindfolded. i obviously do not have the necessaries !
  13. A couple of pics of our Dyson that we will be taking for a spin soon, i will post some pics when we do
  14. Many thanks for the welcome John, still figuring my way round, Yes the extravaganza is August but there is also the 40's weekend in Heywood June 28-29 another minor point, its not 17 acres, its 100 acres, and we will have no option but to be using it all in June and August, we are talking about a more challenging tank track that will involve water and a knife-edge to balance on, should be fun for more experienced drivers, newbies and 'wheeled people' can still use the big oval. The level of interest is already surprising !
  15. The Goddess is currently housed at Rochdale Fire Station Museum as we do not really do much with her, I have plenty of other jobs to do. One thing i am trying to do is find out what kind of hydraulic pump is attached to a chieftain Mk10 gen' engine,as i have one missing, i need this pump and the 'gen' working to operate powered turret traverse and elevation
  16. Hi, My name is Dale from Heywood, Lancashire. I am in the fortunate position of having access to multiple Tanks, APC's, SPG's and other military vehicles to drive and maintain in my spare time. I do this with a couple of friends, generally at weekends. Now and then we do a bit of fund raising, etc, and generally enjoy the vehicles. You can get a better idea at http://www.HeywoodTanks/Facebook We are always happy to receive 'Likes" and any comments or questions Regards Dale
