  8. Hi can anyone please identify this starter and solenoid for me? Brand, type and partnumber if possible? They are attached to a Bedford 200-220 CU Diesel engine... and maybe tell me where i can find replacements? Cheers!
  9. Thanks you so much Richard! Any leads on a good source for parts? i.e. a starter?
  10. It's 4 cylinder. i was told it was put in during the 40's. I also saw an ad on Milweb recently where a C15 was for sale which had a Diesel which was fitted in 1948. thats why i assumed it's a 40's engine... But if you could definatly identify it that would be great, thanks! here's some more:
  11. Hello all. I have a 1942 Chevrolet Canada which is outfitted with a Diesel engine. This was put in there in 1945 or 1946. I am having some starter problems it seems. I am not sure what engine is fitted. My guess would be Perkins, but i'm hoping someone here will recognize it right away!? Thanks in advance!
  12. Looks like i fixed the brakes. Took it out on the road, backed up and braked firmly. After that no more problems! now to fix the accelerator...i looked underneath, there is no spring what so ever.... any tips where to attach one?
  13. well it turns out there a no leaks. The wheels turn but i seems the brakes 'stick' once they are applied...
  14. Hey tony! You mean put a weight on the pedal so it stays down the whole night?
  15. Thank guys, i will have it delivered to my house on a low loader and then take my time going over the brake system. the brakes are hydraulic and there were no leaks as far as i could tell, but ill do a more thorough inspection when it gets here! thanks all
  16. Hi Pete, thanks for your reply! the seller told me the brakes are mechanical and the " springs"(?) are stuck and need a lube... last time he drove it was last year. He did about 23km's with it.. second: sorry, i should have mentioned it was outfitted with a diesel (perkins i believe) in 1945-1946...
  17. Hey everyone.. I have bought me a CMP, c15 4x2... I have 2 questions: It's been standing for almost a year now. The seller told me to check the brakes. What should i look for and what measures should i take? I've noticed the accelerator pedal does not come back up on it's own. Is this normal with CMP's? If so, have any of you made some sort of modification on this? I'd love to know how, because i am thinking of adding a couple of springs or something like that... Hope to hear from you
  18. Yes reo also made firetrucks in the 30's... and the speedwagon for instance... but i have never heard of a truck built under their own name and used in ww2? but i'd love to be convinced of the contrary ofcourse 😊
  19. A 1944 REO? Looks more like a Kenworth or Mack... never heard of 40's REO trucks...
