  1. No,No, no fun of you was intended, it is a quaint English term some people use

From the dictionary.... one form of slag is....(.in the informal tense) a promiscuous woman  :-o,

But in general banter this term can be used to either male or female gender, usually amongst friends

  2. I believe that that the `frowing` of maybe axis WW 22 re-enacting is due to the political side of things.

Do not forget previous moments of time, Roman, English civil war etc were not so well reported and also may not of affected the civilian(?) population as such.

Though i am not into re-enacting / living history in any shape or form i believe that they are needed to enhance the use, display, deployment of the vehicles the mv`ers are proud to exhibit / show.

  3. My first time at this show,

hopefully i will get an application / invite for next year :? well it was advertised as a road run and chipshop raid :-D :-D and i am not sure if the police car turning up as we left was pure coincidence or not :-o

Well done Jack for the arena commentary it was `well bluffed` and Kevin you have a wicked sense of humour, for those who were not there when jack asked him questions about his weapons carrier he answered with ..yes... no.. maybe...

The main down side was that i forgot me flamming camera, well done Sue ,Jerry Kev, Bernie and friends and for those who i have not mentioned see you all soon.

  4. It is always an honour, and these guys really appreciate it, we attended a parade for them last year and these guys could`t wait to get back in the vehicles BUT protocol reigned !!!! even though he was an officer, the members of the legion who held a higher position than him had to ride in the first jeep and himself in the second :-o but i think, on sight of my daughters Scottish flag, and the sound of the wifes Scottish accent there was no way he was traveling in another vehicle :-D some other veterans also wanted to ride in the jeep but he asked me to send them to another vehicle so we could stay together as a group.

The only time i got worried was, he said when we enter the square i wish to stand up while we are moving  well we he managed to stand and gave several salute`s to the applauding crowd but i was happier when he sat down again.

  5. Hi all,

yesterday attended the above, though the number of vehicles was (IMO) small 14 in total, had a great time and met some interesting veterans, including Ian Monroe of the highland fusiliers who was awarded the M.C.

Ian participated in the battle for Normandy, and Caen east of Hill 112 in the `Scottish corridor` a very interesting man and also a very nice guy also the last surviving officer of the regt. from the battle

It was quite a short parade, but the organiser backed out of us parking in the field where the event was being held, non the less Wimborne high street was a great place to meet and chat to the general public.
