  12. Has to be "Full Metal Jacket" voted as one of the best war movies ever made, perhaps I'm a bit biased as it kept me employed for quite a while, .....and my names in the credits too...

  15. It is a Morris Commercial light reconnaisance car base on 15cwt 4x4 truck parts, rear engined, fairly rare now, there is one at Duxford. My Uncle had removed the turret and cut larger windows into it. It does still survive having been restored, last I heard in was in the Norfolk area
  16. And here is a pic of the Morris, which I susequently remember playing in, and Uncles DUKW
  17. My Mother always reckon my interest in military vehicles was something to do with whilst heavily pregnant with me she got a lift home in my uncles Morris armoured car that he used regularly as a car, apparently it was very difficult for her to get out through the small armoured door....she gave birth to me the next day.....was nearly born in an armoured car.......

  20. It is sad that after 38 years the Airborne forces museum is closing on fri.Dec 21st, for those who have not visited it yet ought to see this unique collection, where else can you see a Jeep on its original airdrop platform, how about giving it a good farewell by having an informal MV gathering there on Sat 15th Dec ? Who would be interested in attending ?
  21. weight of the truck on the rear makes the front of the towing Militant very light and can make steering interesting. :-o mmm... yes reminds me of the days of my old Military L/R 11a 109" with harvey frost crane...found its lifting capacity when tried suspend towing a crashed Chevy blazer....err ended up waiving the l/r front wheels in the air..........
  22. Impresive sight, but why was the dolly used? does the crane not operate on your Milly?
