  6. Hi Been busy with the restoration , but just to diversify I have 2 NOS No5 Rubbolite rear lamps .What I am wanting to do is if anyone has 2 NOS No5A lamps would they like to swop one to make a pair :cool2:? If not I'll have to modify the other one by glueing some rubber over the clear lens . Thanks Dave
  7. Found this on the spare tyre , engine and gearbox dropped back onto chassis, all new tubes wheels painted and back on, brake cylinders all replaced now has brakes ,dynamo brush's arrived so rebuild next on that , all coming together nicely . The cab and body are the next items to get stuck into .
  8. Mine had a very light blasting with fine silica sand Dave
  9. On the hunt again :nut: for the throttle stop , scoured the internet but not found one yet , anyone have one they would like to sell or know of a good place to try ? .I've tried Hitchcocks , Baxters and looked at Enfield dealers but drawing blanks . Picture of the elusive part
  10. Thanks Wally , I was thinking along the same lines some sort of tyre saver /run flat device . I think Jeeps had something similar Dave
  11. I sent the old parts to Robson & Francis ,the old brush's were used as a pattern and they had them made, the bush's were on stock. I'm sending them the Dynamo brush's to be made up . For the full brush set and 2 bronze bush's it cost me £23.40 which I thought was a good price. Their number is 020 7733 2353 Dave
  12. Split the spare wheel down which sports a Dunlop Track Grip, inside we found the inner tube and flap were Dunlop also this contraption , any ideas .None of the road wheels had this inside .
  13. Overall condition of the commutator for pit/burn marks , usually a fine emery paper to polish it back up , continuity of the coils , brush's and the bronze bush's apart from that just general condition and a good clean .We replaced the bush's and brush's on the starter and the same goes for the Dynamo brush's and bearings, also the connections on the coils need insulating with some shrink sleeving and a good polish up of the internals.
  14. A bit more happening , starter motor new bush's and brush's are now fitted and reassembled . Dynamo next for the treatment new bearings and what ever else is lurking in there
  15. Another small part I'm looking for if anyone can help ,is the bracket that bolts below the windscreen that holds the bonnet hinge pin in place, or does anyone have the dimensions they could kindly let have so I can make one up . Thanks Dave
  16. Wonder if the museum know's he selling it on their behalf
  17. Thinking along the same lines.........as you say , item location Teddington , then view in Rome........4 star hotel in Rome to interested parties, .......... price includes shipping..........payment by money order or cashiers cheque . The pictures look like they have been scanned out of a catalogue/book very grainy ? Might show interest just for the free night in Rome Dave
  18. Whats your thoughts on this ....................http://www.ebay.com/itm/121543381939 Dave
  19. I was suspicious of one of the fuel tanks when I bought the MW , it had a very thick or should say umpteen layers of rubber type underseal down one side.................Well suspicions were correct, looks like a patchwork quilt .It wouldn't have been so bad if they had cut and laid the pieces in flush and run a nice weld, flatted it back a bit of smooth paste wet and dry job done  , so bit of re-working of the fuel tank next job on the list .Think we'll cut it all out and start again , not cleaned the back off yet . Notice whoever did it has spotted the weld and not run it ?, so it'll probably now leak like a watering can .
  20. Bit more happening this week, fuel tanks ,fuel tank trays , steering column and wheels split all blasted ready for undercoating
  21. That's what I was thinking a repo ,bit on the steep side . I'll take the chain guard with me .Which way will you be going back M62 East or West ? . Just a thought could catch up with you at a service station . Cheers Dave
  22. Just been having a look around for a tyre pump , Hitchcocks have them on stock don't know if they are NOS or repo though............asking £44.00 plus the postage. Dave
  23. Over in North Yorkshire , Catterick direction . If I find a Lucas lamp before a Miller I'll fit it, at least it will be period ..............instead of a repo Dave
