  1. I guess it would have originally been positive earth so is that a positive earth alternator or are you going to run it negative?
  2. Hi Paul, Something I'd long forgotten about that might be of interest for the museum... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samantha_Smith
  3. Hi, these were found in an antiques warehouse near Manchester. Pm me for details. Right hand door top for a series LandRover, with both sliding glass sections. Showing green and sand coloured paint. No picture. Storage box for solid fuel cookers. Uniform various, plus a number of Navy epaulettes (no pic.). Radio gear, two pictured but there is a third unit, possibly a set? There may be more there but it's a large building and time was tight.
  4. Lwt seen running along Manor Royal, Crawley, yesterday.
  5. Fair point, but I was thinking more along the lines of generators, pumps, or domestic stuff like mowers and chainsaws and anything else that doesn't see regular use that ethanol could gum up and damage.
  6. What about 100LL from a local airfield?
  7. A brace of sand coloured LandRovers (1 lwt, 1 lwb) on the Basingstoke ring road today.
  8. MF/Hallam Pushback tug. Contract no. FVE 32B/1085-3 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255469753195?hash=item3b7b2f136b:g:lP8AAOSw-fViSdzu

  10. A light brown canvas bag as per photos. Thought to have originated from Vickers at Weybridge. Any interest to anyone? 12 1/2" wide, 10" high, 2" deep, 32" shoulder strap with 4 stitched pleats in it (adjustment I guess). Printing inside the flap is faded but appears to be: PERNUTA LTD. 1941. GR V1 (crown logo)
  11. Thought this might be of interest. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/in-pictures-59887003
  12. Hi, bear in mind I know nothing about these kind of things! Seen in an antique shop in Hampshire... pm me for details. Various items of uniform inc. helmets Derbyshire Civil Defense manuals Gas mask in Case, described as ARP, appears to be vgc. Rifle Butt, described as vintage (see pic, looked interesting)
  13. That's great, sheds a little more light on how we came to have it. Might have to squirrel it away somewhere safe.
  14. Oh good grief, of course it is! I won't tell you how long I spent staring at that trying to work it out. Thanks, so who would carry a Civilian Duty Respirator? My Grandfather was at Weybridge as a Fire Watcher I believe, my father was also there working on Wellingtons. Could it be attributed to either in those capacities?
  15. Hi, found a light brown canvas bag as per photos. Any ideas as to it's heritage? 12 1/2" wide, 10" high, 2" deep, 32" shoulder strap with 4 stitched pleats in it (adjustment I guess). Printing inside the flap is faded but appears to be: PERNUTA LTD. 1941. GRM1 (crown logo) Thanks.
  16. I've followed all the way through and seriously jealous of your fabricating skills. As an untrained observer, if I'd not seen your pictures, I would have attempted to fit the rifle the other way around so the barrel stood more vertical and tighter to the cab's panel so I'm guessing there's a reason for the orientation as it is?
  17. That's it. Thanks, I couldn't seem to do that! To the upper left is a patch of old looking concrete with a bench on it. On the right you can see the smaller item appears to be a piece of displaced concrete block, the larger longer is the brickwork.
  18. Hi, unsure where to start with this. There is a field near Lower Froyle in Hampshire with a curious anomaly in it. The field is mostly rectangular, but along the western edge next to the lane there is a small square-ish area that is not cropped. it appears to be concreted. On google there can be seen a mark to the eastern edge, this is a brick convex arch-like structure at ground level that slopes away suggesting a decending 'something' underneath. Best way I can describe it is if you were to dig a tunnel and line it with bricks, this is what it would resemble if uncovered. Location 51.19807,-0.90392. The next field to the south has a smaller uncropped area along the same lane. Any suggestions?
  19. Ah, err, well done. I wondered when someone would spot that... Seriously though, I hadn't noticed that. Apologies if I've misled anyone.
  20. Up for auction, there are some MOD jerry cans, odd collections of bike tools, and 326 is described as 'half-track' parts. Other petrolania too. https://machinerysales.cheffins.co.uk/auctions/catalog/id/1216/Cheffins-Timed-Online-Christmas-Auction-Timed-online-auction-sale-of-petroliana-models-literature-and-memorabilia-etc-Commences-?page=6
  21. I have 3 halves of an adjustable height hitch plate. The vehicle half is a Dixon Bate 202090. one unidentified hitch half has one pin for the height adjustment and 2 locations for the ball, the other unidentified piece has two pins for the height adjustment and 2 locations for the ball. Any use to anyone? Located near Aldershot, Hampshire.
  22. Had one of these many years ago, in olive green (red rad cap, red fan) but with a cage around it and mounted on a couple of sleepers. Linked leather fan belt. The exhaust came down the side then elbowed forward to the silencer which was horizontal and ran forward alongside the base of the radiator within the cage. The cage hade a tray for a 12v battery which when connected to the terminals you can see started the engine via the green button on the other side of the control box, it also had a starting handle but I can't remember if that had a storage spot. Very quiet, smooth runner. Hope that helps, Rob.
