  1. Thanks for the guidance. I've found some on 'milweb'(?). It's a Logic SMT120b apparently, two versions as well. Hmm... Now which is best for my use? (or, what excuse can I come up with to get one!).
  2. No problem, really just testing the water at the moment to see if there are any in circulation. Thanks anyway. Rob.
  3. Hi, I've seen a small trailer, probably no more than 3' square on small balloon tyres being used with ATVs in the gulf and wondered if anyone has one or knows where I might aquire one. Rob.
  4. Don't recall the Aldershot Commander having a ballast box or any writing on it, but driving past it regularly it was just 'there'. Apologies for calling the Amazons Crusaders! I'd never even heard of an Amazon until now. Rob.
  5. Hi everyone, I'm Rob, located in... let's just say Hampshire for now, and old enough to know better than get involved in something like this. I suppose you'd say my main hobby is vintage and classic tractors, but this has branched out into anything that appears to be greasy, wet or rusty being if interest. I don't have much room to play so toys are small, but I do have a Tractor from 1938, 2 mid 70's garden tractors, and currently working with a batch of mid 80's ATVs. I can't do 'showroom' restorations because once I've got it working it's playtime for however long it holds together, and then it's back to repairing it again. I think the closest I've been to owning ex-military equipment was a Ferguson TEF20 (JBL635) which had the bonnet painted in RAF blue. Don't know if there was a connection or not. Also an ex-Army Mk2 Ford Escort Estate bought from BCA still with it's MoD reg on the keys (05GX38), I believe originally based at Thatcham although I've no proof. Oh, and I nearly forgot, an Onan 2cyl 3Kv 240v generator, and some army surplus socks, but that's a whole other story. Hopefully I'll learn while I'm here and you never know I might even be able to help. Rob.
  6. Hi Chaps, The Commander at Aldershot has gone. Currently there is an AEC Mandator (I think) in it's place. I found this forum while trying to find out the whereabouts of the Gale Barracks machine, and so far, no trace. Going back a few years, the MVEE at Chobham had a clearance auction when it closed down. I was suprised to see amongst the lots were; A Scammell Crusader 6x4 5th wheel tractor. A Scammell Crusader 6x4 5th wheel tractor c/w lowloader semi-trailer loaded with crates containing a complete set of spare wheels and tyres, and a spare engine. A Scammell Commander 6x4 5th wheel tractor c/w lowloader semi-trailer loaded with crates containing a complete set of spare wheels and tyres, and a spare engine. Don't ask me what they made pricewise, it was too long ago, but that would suggest at least one in private ownership, and unless the prototype was retro-fitted with production grill/bonnet, this wasn't it. Rob.
