  1. And now ready to start to paint some bits and putting everything back in to his place.
  2. A few extra day's on the Morris! Now I can start to repair the radio box with new wood as the frames are in a very bad shape, some rot and a completely bend structure. The floor looks good and think that it was replaced in the past . Took the drivers cabin of the chassis to replace just one plank on the floor and then will have this section a new coat of paint. Looks like the chassis was repainted an few years back.
  3. Hello, just will ad some pictures from this project that we will be working on together with my Morris Commercial C4 wireless. Will be great to have 2 of this really unique vehicles back on the road in the future . We are looking to made this C4 back in to a light warning truck ( radar ) but don't have match information witch equipment we will need to kit this one out . So all information is welcome. Found a real good engine for this project that had been standing for more than 30 year and after a complete strip to clean and check everything over we are assembling this one at the moment. The original engine had connecting rod bearing failure and as the crankshaft had a bad time I think that the most economic way will be to swap the engine over . Started also on the rear box as this one was not in great shape, there have been done some work in it the past, but not really up to standards. We will strip the sides and rebuild section by section as the hole side section is severely bend. The roof will come in for the same treatment as this was also rebuild but not really with right materials and style. So plenty of work and I also need to replicate the box for my Morris C4 W/T project that I will build up as a wireless model. The nice thing about these 2 W/T models is that bought came from the same contract N° : 23/6778 and under Cat. ref n°337. With a bit of investigation these two fall in between census numbers Z5832027 to Z5832356. So this one is 89 chassis numbers earlier than my project and one came from France and this on (if I am well informed ) Came from Norway.
  4. Hello Alex , indeed I have some information and pictures from Jaap de Wit his thread on MLU, but not everything on his project is as I like it. the panel work is not fitted as original and the roof is original covered with canvas and not in metal plate as Jaap did it . But no hard feelings he made a great job of it and I was very lucky he post some interesting pictures . Guy.
  5. Made the little box to fit the driver's handbook in to, made the copy from a friend his C4 that still had the original fitted in the cabin. Started also to strip the radio box on this wireless, this will need a lot of work and will duplicate in the meantime for my wireless where the radio box was lost.
  6. Will send a PM for the springs ! Guy M
  7. Did use single flare ends on the tubes , did the same on my Bedford QL and never had any problems with this set up .. If you want to modify to double flares you need to replace some tricky connectors on the brake system. Guy
  8. Thanks for the information , but the 4 brake houses came with the Morris , the French and previous owner orderer some parts for the brake system. Strange that there came 4 houses my way with the Morris as there are only 3 required .
  9. Made the tubes that connect the front and rear. on these two tubes will the cupola been fitted that is in construction for the moment. The replacement engine for the second Morris W/T some reassemble work , needed to check this one completely over ass the engine was stored for more than 30 years.
  10. Hi Andy. First took a piece of 3 mm thick plate and rolled around two tubes of 3/4 " and welded this together. Ones ready I welded the ring round the tube and after well heating I bend these to a more open shape with a long 3/4" solid bar . Had to make a few test to have enough space to slide the top tube aside the vertical tube. The use of this bracket is that you can store the two tubes if you want to drive without the canvas cover over the cabin. Hope this will help you a bit further !! Guy.
  11. Great pictures Alex. Now I need to look for some large speakers to put on the Morris, are will maybe better of with a lot of passengers as on the second picture . Guy:nut:
  12. Thanks Richard , the piston rings are on there way . Thanks for the tip. Guy.
  13. Hello , looking for a piston ring set Std size for a 4 cylinder Morris commercial C4 are C8 engine. Engine is on 100 mm bore so this is Std size if I have it right . Thanks.
  14. Hello Rob , I am still after a pair of these springs with hook but they are for the outside of the bonnet of a Morris Commercial C4. The difference is the smaller diameter from the spring on a Morris , Bedford has a fraction bigger spring, can you post some pictures of the springs? Regards. Guy.
  15. The newly made hoops bend and also made copies of the fittings on these . And test fitted on the vehicle .
  16. Like to follow this thread on here , not to match bla bla bla but match action and interesting pictures. Looking forward to the next steps in the restoration . Guy;)
  17. Yesterday I collected some battery boxes for the Morris radio set up, looking forward to start on the rear body.
  18. The rear toolbox is ready and the brackets on the side drilled and test fitted. Had a tray with the hoops I have from the other C4 with the bad engine and everything fits fine. Made also the small wooden pieces that go in to the brackets. On the vertical hoop there is profile welded on with a selection of holes in to it , I do recognise this fitting as the same style is used on the Bedford QL where there comes a spring to tighten the copula cover. Think these late type morris was equipped with a look out trap in the canvas. Can anyone correct my on this subject !! And this is the set up on the Bedford , resembles very match what i have on the Morris. Next step will be the reproducing of the hoops , lucky that I have a good sample !
  19. Yes Pete , these little jigs can come handy if you have to make several of the same bits . Guy
  20. Hello, yes I know Jacob. but if I am right this Morris C4 project is not yet finished. Jacob collected some bits in Norway for my project . It's a small world !!
  21. Some more fabrication work done in the workshop . The rear wheel boxes are ready and just need to finish the lid on the RH side box . Made also new hoop support brackets as these where missing on the C4 . Made a simple jig to bend these brackets Now only have to drill some holes and make the wooden bits that go in the bracket.
  22. Looking great ! I am working on my similar box for the Morris C4. It's just a bit simpler as it is not fitted on to the rear cross member. Guy
  23. You are right that the triangle lion head was used on bigger vehicles (that's from where are sample came). Moist of the mechanical work was done by me and the owner Marnic did the paintwork and the signs on the bike . If you pm my I can bring you in contact with Marnic as he has a bit more information about the Belgian Brigade. Here are some extra pictures of are bikes , all two are Triumph 3HW models.
  24. Hello Stef , we did one a few years back as brigade Piron. It's a Triumph 3HW and these were in use with the Belgian brigade.
  25. The only rear radio box bits that came with the Morris from France where the rear wheel boxes, not really in super shape as these metal bits had been exposed to the elements when the C4 was a breakdown lorry. picture from the previous owner before stripping of the remains from the back of the Morris and the remains of the wheel arches that came sandblasted and primed to my place! And now I started to make some new wheel arches . And now I am in to all this construction work made also the tube from the bottom of the radiator to the water pump and also the missing shovel support .
