  1. cheers for the link, and 'liked'
  2. Well said I myself have been in contact with our local county archaelogist to let him know the position of a couple of places, such as the field down the road, from where I was brought up as a kid, used to have lights on poles to try and draw German bombers into bombing it rather than the town of Chelmsford.
  3. yep, there are loads of pillboxes and even an airfield missing in my area of Essex..... But, there is also alot of historic stuff that I bet you all never knew about in your local area that is in the google earth dob project
  4. Nice to see that the Polish Gov. is taking the concept of people stealing parts of this tank very seriously, looks to me like they have called in the police to watch over the tank, as well as a team for combating crime to watch over the police
  5. This thievery happens to everyone; we live on estate that gets the odd traveller drive round in his van, ringing his bell for scrap metal. One of these blokes is quite chatty, and one day I was asking him if he ever gets any old military gear thrown out, ammo boxes etc. He tells me that this elderly chap gave him a load of old shell cases the other week. 'Big uns', he says, 'I put 'em outside me trailor, and some bast**d stole 'em in the middle of the night'. NO one is safe. Trure story, by the way.
  6. Just found more info on this plane from todays news on the BBC :- http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-12997528
  7. Thx for posting this info up. Be great to see this warbird recovered.
  8. Best to get rid of the WOT6, as you have your hands full with the Tanks. Still haven't got myself a tank yet. My first job is still to convince the Mrs that we 'need' a tank. I've just joined this forum, when I get the spare time - I'll add some info to your thread/database on stories of lost tanks, as I've listened and asked questions on these matters since I was a kid. Such as the elusive 'quarry full of Yank tanks' stories. With regards, Simon.
  9. Hi Eddy, I thought I recognized you from Warrelics forum. I was one of the members that wished you all the best in your dream of getting your own tank. How is it going with the Churchill, is it in Manchester yet? With regards, Shadow Wolf aka Simon.
  10. Here we are then :-D The little girl walking away from the Russian tracked vehicle is my daughter 'Blu', who deserted her father to chase after a dogge :-)
  11. Cheers Ian, I went last year with my, at the time 1 year old, daughter. I shall try and get there this year as well. Took loads of pics last year at the bunker bash if anyone wants to see them? Simon.
