Thanks John. Well the scraper is all back together now. Here are a couple more pics. Are take some better ones once i get it outside.I wrapped the spare wire rope cable in sacking thought it looked a bit more authentic. The spare cutting blade sits on the back.

Well more done to the earth scraper box, its been grit blasted and primed and top coated. The rot has been cut out of the back and a new piece of metal folded, Thanks Adrian. Now got to weld the new piece in. Heres a few pics.

Well Work commenced on the scraper box today. After getting the cable removed from the bottom spring that pulls the back plate back, I was able to push it forward. The two pins that hold the front gate in position were siezed solid even with heat they did not want to budge so they were cut off. The front gate was then lifted off with the fork lift as was the rear ejector plate. We managed to get the front gate blasted and primed. I also took measurements to make a new top hat section for the rear slide.

Well more work carried out to the C60s the chassis has now been sprayed in drab. And it is now back in the workshop. The two axles have also been blasted, primed and top coated. The axles are also now back attached to the chassis and sitting on axle stands. I have removed the front hubs and also the back plates. The brake cylinders are in a bit of a state but that was to be expected. The brake shoes are stamped ford. I will be getting all 4 pairs relined. I would like to try and get hold of some new wheel cylinders, rather than go down the lining route with past parts, but I may well have to do that.

Well had a good day on the chevrolet, the chassis is now blasted and primed. Top coat tomorrow all being well. Howard

I think the D4 should more than cope, it can always get a push, i saw a D2 pulling a similar bx but it was getting a push by another D2.

Well I have managed to get the c60s done to just a chassis, just the steering box to come off. The pins that hold the spring hangers and springs actually came out very very easily, I had expected them to dried out and warn, but the owner had kept it well greased. Hoping all being well to get it blasted and painted next week. Will just have to see as I have other jobs on the go. Got to try and keep every body happy. Howard

Well I had an interesting little bit of earth moving delivered for a restoration, grit blast and repaint.A Vickers-Onion scraper box. It was a hedge row find, and is in prety good nick. All of the pullys turn even the cables look good.Even all the tyres are a matching set and look to have done hardly any work, even has a spare blade. Heres a couple of pics. Well we are almost down to just a rolling chassis, just the handbrake cable to come off and we are there.The transfer box and rear prop came off yesterday as did the brake pipes. I have then got to split the chassis from the springs and the chassis will be ready for blasting.More pics to follow. Howard

Hello Pete, Mmm does that mean the truck has had the later engine fitted at a later date or would it have come out of the factory with it. Interesting about the slits on the rocker cover, cant beat hitting something with a Hammer.Howard

Well more work carried out on the C60s today. A new engine cradle was fabricated and the engine lifted from the chassis and bolted into the cradle. The front prop was also unbolted, as was the front and rear shocks. Also both side steps and frames were also unbolted. The rear prop and transfer box tomorrow.Howard

Hello Richard If you scroll back to page 5 there is a pic of the rebuild plate on the engine, I think the only real sign of the sky blue is on the rocker cover. I also do know that the engine had a new head fitted back in the early 50s. by the present onlys father. I went through the tax disc holder and they date back to 49.Thanks Howard.

Well more work achieved on the C60s today. The cab was unbolted from the floor, or should I say some bolts were cut due to rust. The screen came away with the cab when we lifted it off. I then removed the screen.Also unbolted the rear floor section and lifted it off after unbolting the high low gear lever. Once these items were removed I disconnected the oil pressure gauge and various electrics, i then lifted the rest of the front scuttle off with the fork lift. We then concentrated on unbolting the prop shaft between gear box and trasfer box. Also unbolted all engine mounts, The starter and dynamo were also unbolted as was the exhaust system, also the carb, and other items. The engine is now ready for lifting out, just got to weld up a stand to drop the engine into. Heres a few pics. Howard

Yes I have decided to go with a recore, but in the honeycomb if I can get it. Well only just in from the workshop. Have managed to get both seats out of the cab. Have also removed a bit more tin work to allow the cab to come backwards onto the chassis. I still have a few more bolts to undo or cut off, its amazing how some bolts unscrew with no effort at all, and some have to be cut off. I will attach a few more pics. Howard.

Well a bit more done to the chev, i removed the old homemade door tops. I also wanted to remove the door bottoms, |I had to use some heat on some of the screws, but they all came undone so that was a result. I also had a nice delivery today the replacement parts from Dirk turned up and they were all really nice the headlights came with the blackout shields fitted.

There is no shroud on my Radiator, but the radiator looks in good order and at the moment does not leak. My concern is once its been cleaned, and flushed out will it still be ok for the long term. or should I get anew core fitted. open to surggestions. No more work done on her yet. Howard
