  8. SHUUSSSSSH Jerr If all this lot know I messed up a little I wouldnt hear the last of it . Did you see the 432 having a go at pulling the sled ...I didnt......Any idea of what happened with his gearbox or what went wrong ??? boomboom:angel:
  9. Hi All Now that I have got over the show weekend I thought I would let you guys and gals know how it all went and boy what a show it was with well over a 100 military vehicles and I was talking to Mike Phelps who organises the military side of this show and for next year they are planning to make the military enclosure as big again to accept even more Military vehicles and Mike is up for anything in the Military line up so if any of you guys have an idea or want to fire something have a word with Mike Phelps and i have never seen this before but they even let the Military heaveys have a go in with the tractor pullers and pull the sled. Now for all of us who like the sound of a big Petrol or Diesel engine working its guts out the tractor pulling was a highlight for me and at night it was even better with all the flames and screaming and whistling of the blowers even the main band the Wurzels were droned out at some points and they were in another field. This show caters for a lot of tastes of people and its the first time I have seen a security done like this but on your wristband there was a phone number and if any one was having any grief from an idiots you ring the number on your wristband and the Rapid Response unit was there in 3 minutes and there was an awfull lot of them . I was asked by Mike Phelps to fire the 155mm in the arena and I asked him if I could try an additive in the charge for a better effect and he said try it:D:D:D:D:D SO I DID and I put in some Magnesium flakes and from were I was stood it looked like GOD used a flash when he took a photo of the gun firing:D:D:D:D:D:D and when i get the video back from the show I will post it up here for ya all. My point is that if any of us military guys and gals have something we want to show no matter how big or small it is ...have a word with Mike Phelps about it and do it in front of thousands people looking on as it sure made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up:D:D:D All in all guys in my book of shows this one stands on the top of my list along with the Overlord and Wartime in the Vale shows. And this is just my personal opinion. Well done and thank you Welland for my great weekend. BOOMBOOM PS I forgot to tell you all and now how rare is this ....On the Saturday a nice old chap came over to me and we had a good old natter and it turned out that he was head of the design unit from the start of the FH70 Development and has gifted me with an engraved section of the very first barrel of the FH series of barrels

Brilliant fun and OK the truck left its footprint in the woods ? the carbon one as well:cool2: Saturday night 11.00pm went to bed and woke up after an hour with soaking bedding due to condensation inside the truck canvas so didnt sleep at all saturday night just went for a walk and drank coffee till 8.00am . Finish show and got home at 6.30pm Sunday then after a good warm bath To my surprise I woke up on Monday at 10.00ish with my Family again :D You Guys know that some circumstances at shows stay with you for ever Brilliant weekend. 17. Hi All To any one who is interested in a nice chilled out run for Military Vehicles through the dense woodlands of the Forest of Dean The Forestry Commission has Granted us Permission to have a Forestry Track Road Run of about 30 miles and ending in a Bar B Q in the evening. As most of you may know the woods in and around the forest was one of the biggest ammo dumps of the second world war prior to the D Day landings with most of the structures from that time still visible and many WW2 bits still to be found in and around the woods. Places for the wood run are limited So please PM me or Rampant rivet so we can secure a place for you. This is a run what you bring event so any MV would be fine. The plan for the weekend is this. Start the wood run 30 miles 10.00am Finishing at about 5.00pm then Bar B Q MV owners who want to make a weekend of it like myself . After the Bar B Q we will then drive a few yards to the Speech House Hotel field and pitch tents for the evening , Then we are sited ready for the Speech house Steam Show on the Sunday. Dates for this Event are the 8th Sept, Wood run and 9th Sept The steam Show Like i said anyone wanting to do this one PM me or rampant rivet and we can secure you a place. boomboom

  20. How about this for an idea chaps If the police or what ever body covers the CCTV cameras on the roads and ports will not help due to cost involved ???. As we are all in this hobby and share the same interest. Why not tell them we will pay for the footage ourselves and put these skumbags in the frame . We need to pull together as one body on issues like this. Pete
  21. Hi Gavin Well its about time you got on here....... Welcome on board Gav. Looking forward to Welland and Burford and not forgetting our own one through the woods and camping for the weekend and that one i will post on here to let all know when and were. Did you tell chris and pete about it.:cool2::cool2::cool2: Pete:-D
  22. This is the best post on this matter i have read so far, Either you want to go and support the show or you dont BUT think of the alternative . If the organisers not only of this show but other shows allso said SOD IT we can not be doing with the hassle of organising the show anymore What would we all do ??? I am sure as with this show and many other shows the organising can be 100% perfect but there will always be a margin of dought on the weather. Not one person can control that element. All the moaning about conditions at the site are in my opinion a bit harsh, as there are people down there working there arses off to put the show on and make the best of the bad weather. I can not do the show and have never been but that is my choice. Read the phrase at the bottom of my post.....Paddle your own canoe.....Pardon the Pun there. boomboom PS Please keep the photos coming boys. Rant over boomboom
