  2. Welcome home Jack - been very quiet while you were away . Was here all by myself at one stage over the weekend ! Think everybody else was in the shed while I was supposed to be decorating . But they have mostly been behaving . D :-D
  3. Well done John . You probably don't need me to tell you but if you've not found a cab Atkinson-Vos have a selection form £500-£1350 + VaT . Speak to Simon Ward . Good luck . D
  4. Also get Rover gas turbine engines come up from time to time . Mostly in the guise of portable fire pumps . They seem to go for around £1500 .
  5. So THAT's why he started wearing the underpants on the outside .

  7. Been looking at this one on eBay after my bruv pointed it out . Looks rather interesting . Item No : 130073201478 . 1968 ex federal border police ambulance . I had to look for it for a while as it's listed under motorhomes and not in the mil section .
  8. Well............if you think you'd look good in one
  9. Ok Ok . I'm going....past my bedtime anyway . Just get my Horlicks and I'll be off . Wasn't like this in my day . Huh
  10. Oh come on - you have to admit , the Banana Splits was really good
  11. Just curious - a while ago the was a bit of light hearted chat about the possibility of tee shirts or badges and stuff . Possibly in time for W&P . I know everyone's got a million other things on their collective plates but is there any news on that front ?
  12. Sorry Richard ! Umm.....well.....I'm not sure. Reading the online tender form I'd say that once you're registered with them and submit that form with your bids that's it . But elsewhere it speaks about completing the postal form and submitting that .Sorry , that's not very helpful is it ? Fink I going to go beddybyes my head hurts
  13. Just been over to Withams and had a read of the various T&C's but I'm too tired & frazzled to make much sense of it , couldn't actually see those sort of phrases but there do seem to be quite a few let outs in there so they don't necessarily have to let stuff go . But if you have bid on something they say that if you phone them they will divulge the winning price etc
  14. Is there no end to this man's talents ? House moving....truck painting .........photographic and literary producer extroadinaire and now this..... We are not worthy...we are not worthy
  15. I guess I'll have to sell it , haven't got anything else suitable to nail it on to , it's a big bugger and space is at a bit of a premium . The guy who's storing the Mog for me says he gets people looking for them from time to time .

Yeah , it worked fine . Obviously if the tank is totally rotten you're going to have troubles but the only real problem I've had was in underestimating the quantity of the stuff I needed to treat whatever tank it was I was playing with at the time .
  17. Never bothered to read all the terms & conditions but more often than not tender documents have wording somewhere along the lines of "the seller may decline any or all offers made and does not bind themselves to sell any item "
  18. Well it just so happens that my cover starts on February 1st so.... Thanks Jack . Thanks very much for your efforts on all of our behalf. On the down side - for me - the vehicle has to be returned to original ie unmodified - condition . Means I gotta take my lovely big HiAb off the back . And send them a pic to prove it . Boo Hoo
  19. Just a thought - Does HMVF qualify as an appropriate club ? They asked if i was a member of an appropriate owners club .

Don't know if it's the same thing ( just been and looked at the can but can't read v v small print ). Used some stuff labelled Slosh Tank Sealant - mine came from Paul Beck Vintage Suplies - tried that two or three times in the past . Clean the worst of the crap out of your tank , pressure wash or steam clean , dry it , empty contents of tin in , roll tank round all ways to ensure complete coverage then drain back out and leave to dry . Seal joints etc and varnishes (for want of a better word) any loose bits that might be left and stops them floating around causing problems . Is that the stuff ?
  22. Yes , I've heard some stories of checks being made on vintage tractors whilst on display at a show and use of red diesel not being permitted because that doesn't actually constitute agricultural use . Am I right in thinking that there are restrictions on the distance you can travel if you're taxed agricultural ?
  23. I've seen a few heavy MV's (amongst others) at shows carrying Agricultural class tax discs . Can anyone enlighten me on the ins & outs of running a vehicle in this category .
