    Hi Andy

    Thanks for info.

It will not start normally. One little zip of the starter spray in the air intake, and it runs. It stops when it gets close to idle. Then spray again to start it. Once it’s warm, it goes to idle and keeps idling. .

Solinoid is working perfectly. Pulling and releasing.

Now I have taken 3 injectors and will test the conditions. If it’s the problem, I will pull the other 3 also.

I don't see that this can be an injector problem or it wouldn't run at all - that's why I asked.  It sounds more like failure or maladjustment of the excess fuel device in the FIP that provides extra fuel at low rpm, principally during cranking.  Unfortunately I can't find any information as detailed operation of the FIP is covered in an EMER that I've never seen.

Anyone who can inform about the opening pressure for the injectors?

It depends on the type fitted, but between 150 and 175 atmospheres according to the manual, in other words between 2250 and 2625 psi.

Are you saying that the engine now won't start at all?

  3. As has been said previously, they'll need proper treatment if they've been in salt water.  Holland 1 was originally just recovered and sat outside, I went round her at the time.  Not long after, the hull started delaminating like an onion skin.

  4. The link to the "unusual radio setup" seems to redirect back to this thread?

Don't get hung up on the registration date.  Ex-military vehicles receiving a civilian registration should use the "date of first use", i.e. the date they entered MOD service, not the date they left it.

The definitive reply from the MVT seems to be a long time coming.

When my local MVT area asked for clarification back in August, the following was received from Simon Bromley, MVT General Secretary:

"I can categorically confirm that for the purposes of the VCRA, the MVT is classed as a re-enactor group. MVT members are therefore members of the “MVT re-enactor group”. So what does this mean in reality? This is a massive question with massive answers but starting with the basic point that the sale of realistic imitation firearms is banned, the MVT can then rely on exemptions from the ban.

Firstly, the MVT holds events which are historical re-enactments and we hold public liability insurance for such events. Secondly, the MVT acts out and recreates military scenarios, and once again we hold PLI to cover such events. On this basis, that makes us re-enactors, which in turn, allows dealers to sell our members realistic imitation firearms."

  6. Be aware, if you aren't already, that there is an existing National Cold War Exhibition at RAF Cosford.  Just in case anyone says anything - forewarned is forearmed.

I share your pain with planning, I wouldn't have thought that building a barn in an empty field could be so much of a problem.  A year and two refusals on, I'm now going through the appeal process.

    Just read this on https://www.mvt.org.uk/joining

    Airsoft/ Deactivated weapons
The MVT Public Liability Insurance does not cover the purchase or use of deactivated and airsoft weapons.

However, wasn't there something in Windscreen that said the MVT was classed as a re-enactors group for VCR purposes?  I'm confused!

Hi Andy, thanks for the info. Never heard of them but will look into it. Do they make replicas for the public then or are they a government forces company designed to make live firing weapons for the military.

Manroy are the UK manufacturer of GPMGs and at one stage they would sell you a de-ac brand new from the factory.
