  1. I know what you mean Jack it's a pretty poor show from the country considering the importance of this day in history. It's up to us to drive our vehicles around to get the message across that a lot payed the ultimate to give us a free life style (although with the changing face of the world we are not Free anymore but that's a different issue). Bless them all Steve
  2. I had a very similar problem with a jeep but reversed to yours, would run very rough until warm, then run fine tried all the usual checked everything was in order,it turned out to be the coil, the coil had a broken wire in the base, when the windings of the coil got hot and expanded it would make a good connection. I stripped the coil down and examined it was a bit of a bugger getting it opened but found the problem.Instralled a new coil and it's been fine. I've also installed electronic ignition on all my vehicles from Frank Jolly (Not so Jolly) engineering. Had one of his units fail after 5 miles causing me to get my GMC recovered :evil:He would only send another out after testing the original first and I'd brought 4 units for different MV's of him previously No refund on my postage either . They are still worth the electronic alteration and have made my MV's much better to start and run.( I carry the old distributor parts with me just in case of a problem). Hope you get it sorted . regards Steve

He cross referenced several part numbers and sorted a load of bit's out to help with the engine rebuild. He is truly amazing the amount of information he can reel of from memory .He has a very large garage full to the limits with Gaskets and vehicle parts,It's worth giving him a ring if you ever need anything for your vehicle restoration. A very nice buy was an original interior lamp and oil filter housing. http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/4940/p6050140jp8.th.jpg[/img] http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/1543/p6050146vg2.th.jpg[/img] http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/619/p6050145yo5.th.jpg[/img] More restoration pictures to follow next week. 15. Hi Rick, my turn to assist :-) after rebuilding a Jimmy and looking at the ones on Milweb I'd say they are worth a go ,just for spares you could get more than you paid for them.I was tempted but I've got 3 and now the Morris to do it's not possible at the moment. Spares are readily available and they are easy to work on. The split chassis is nice if you fancy shooting around the block in a Reliant (Robin) Jimmy. I believe you can drive just the cab around short distances without the back attached providing you've got the Jockey wheel assembly. The CCKW forum has some nice pictures of the Airportable Jimmy. Regards Steve
  16. Rick if you click on any of those picture they'll be large enough If anyone wants to come and view It's in the Midlands not far from Birmingham Airport at the moment and will be moved to my place in Solihull Shortly. I'll post more pictures soon regards Steve

The engine data plate say's Type E K No 59513 The data plate inside say's Car 4x4 LT recce MKII Makers No. 2480M WD No. M.5848748 Month of Supply 1944 AUG http://img501.imageshack.us/img501/552/s1030265smallkw6.th.jpg[/img] http://img501.imageshack.us/img501/1341/s1030266smallbn5.th.jpg[/img] http://img501.imageshack.us/img501/1218/s1030257smallca4.th.jpg[/img] http://img501.imageshack.us/img501/8158/s1030273smallyy2.th.jpg[/img] http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/1151/p5280099hd3.th.jpg[/img] http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/7581/p5280094uy4.th.jpg[/img] http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/7062/p5280092bj7.th.jpg[/img] http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/2231/p5280082gy9.th.jpg[/img] http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/8527/p5280078xe1.th.jpg[/img] http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/4638/p5280101ak5.th.jpg[/img] http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/3610/p5280065ci2.th.jpg[/img] http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/2591/p5280073hf0.th.jpg[/img] http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/8430/p5280075rj7.th.jpg[/img][/url
