  1. Hi, We tried starting the Fox up and the ignition doesnt seem right - we think this unit is the problem - would anyone know what part I should ask for ? - is it a 24v ignition system? - would it be standard or military specific? album here http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/album.php?albumid=416 any help appreciated! cheers Mark B

  3. Hi Among other things Im fixing I want to fix the leak on the fluid coupling on the fox , ive read that a ferret fluid coupling can use a seal from john deere but is this the same as the Fox? Also it was mentioned you can use RTV instant gasket for the seal? would this work? any thoughts let me know the engines out and being repaired so i need to do this soonish cheers Mark B

  5. Hi Currently fixing up the fox after my incident however ive noticed that a small plastic cylinder next to the air filter with the words 'reset' has broken off - does anyone know what yhis was for? Also is it important to fix or is this a when i can fix? cheers Mark B
  6. it was us on the Fox but the M20 was not shutdown or lanes closed i used all three dry powder extinguishers so no problems there only 5% fire damage recorded so hopefully i can get the fox up and running for my part i made a stupid mistake i should have checked the belts before setting off but didnt - the water pump bely had come off - lesson learned
  7. you've got ti be kidding we really enjoyed the uso bar it was superb with the singers and dancers they must be nuts to get rid of this
  8. sounds alot like us although the m20 wasnt closed at all we pulled off into the grass on the hard shoulder i forgot to collect the empty extinguishers as well but hey ho better than losing the fox altogether
  9. indeed - at least ive now got a transpoter thars cheap so ill arrange to bring him up soon - i knew it was a risk running it this year without overhauling first but war and peace was one if the best times uve ever had so im not regretting it one bit
  10. signalled the end of militaryodyssey for me - were not sure what happenwd yet but whilst driving down to odyssey we noticed a very loud humming noise coming fri the engine bay this was the followed by clouds of white smoke or steam coming out of the engine bay - on later inspection it looks like the water pump belt has also come off plus the coolant system has a bad leak the good news that was the last show i was going to do apart from lee's end of season bash - maybe be able to get it sorted by then anyway i had a good season with the Fox - he'll be back
  11. I think its pretty bizarre people are being asked to sign contracts in order to turn up for free and make these show organisers richer?? I would understand if people were being paid but for free...seems a bit nuts to me when its the exhibitors that make these shows...
  12. I think numbers are down as the living history groups are being forced to sign a contract obliging them to stay for the whole event - apparently too many people left on the sunday last year - the contract is legally binding as well
  13. went up there today - didnt think much of it tbh - glad we didnt go for the weekend in the end
  14. just time and circumstances - i have thislast show todo and a busy week at work ...
  15. Hi ive managed to get some belts from banisters in the short term but i doubt ill have time to fit them by next saturday in time for odyssey - will it damage the fox to drive it without the generator belt on? i know it wont charge the batteries but i have a starter in case the batteries die cheers Mark B
  16. great stuff thank you - ill do some frantic phone calls tomorrow cheers Mark B
  17. hi - do you know the size i should ask for? id rather get a new one if possible - ive got an engine winch on the way so should be able to do this at the weekend - mayhem will not be possible though which is a shame
  18. Hi as some of you know i pushed the Fox a bit hard at the weekend due to distance tra elled to headcorn so it rather petulantly punished my by chewing irs generator belt to pieces - does anyone know what i need to order or a good supplier i could ask? Im assuming o'll need a modern belt equivalent as old spares are likely to be pretty dried out by now ? cheers Mark B
  19. Thanks ill have alot of phoning to do tomorrow

  22. 24. Hi I've noticed that when moving off from a stationary position I have pump the throttle up and down a bit to get the fox going - it sounds like its going to stall when you move off but everything is ok when on the move Its not the fluid coupling as i know about this now andcits not a big problem but im wondering where to start investigating this? cheers Mark B
