  1. Silly me ! yes you're right. More the better and for maintenance etc...... thank you
  2. Did you say you had some for sale? Missed that and didn't assume Clive. Dont worry as I would like a few anyway if I can acquire more from your stock etc. thank you
  3. Flexible ones I meant.... the MS ones might need sorting as we discussed previously. Ta
  4. Thank you for your help. Yes the document would be helpful as always. I am sure the pipes I have can be re-used after some reconditioning etc. :-D
  5. fantastic news. set aside in the parts for collection please. are they available commercially too??
  6. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/390685898431?nav=SEARCH oops
  7. According to my parts catalogue the correct items are LV6/MT1/AU/LK/4904 & 4906 x 2. (Front) LV6/MT1/AU/LK/KL4 9808. (Rear) I found these on eBay for a Ferret and wondered if they parts matched? I have take off items for spares, but wondered if these NOS items are the same???? Can anyone help?
  8. Thanks for this. More good learnings passed on. I hadn't thought of Helicoils I need to chop my bust downpipe off and then take the header manifold off to do this properly. I wonder if Clive knows about gaskets and availability?
  9. Thank You. my worry is tat they are so corroded that they may snap twice! Ill give it a go though and see if the blighters shift etc.
  10. I guess we ave all suffered from this one. Heated the nuts up and shot some lube in there as well. Used my trusty Erwin socket as it looked a bit rounded of, and......Snap! Now got snapped studs in the manifold piece on my Humber Pig! As they are so corroded I have a couple of options. 1) Take off and soak after using a cut off tool on the last stud to see if they may still unscrew out. Or 2) Take off and get drilled out. Re-tap with new studs. I will need new studs so probably option 2 is the most sensible. I do wish when people did a replacement in the past they didn't use cheap mild steel nuts etc. Nevermind the brakes are more of a challenge if I am honest and a bit more important Curious what experiences others have had with studs! Ta
  11. Yes but worth spares for the future as always etc cheers
  12. Clive always a major temptation for sure. I love exploring my stores now to see what I have sat on a shelf. I've been lucky on many spares. Timing, knowledge or friends over the years. As the years pass by I now know that pre awareness or instinct has been a strategic purchase angel! I've been wise for the Rover8 but my Humber continues to be a challenge! However my trailer of spares and old chassis are the best I could achieve and I thank all involved in that exercise.
  13. As the article states, this was such a posthumous vehicle in the development of FV specific Land Rovers. This vehicle is the great ancestor and first of all land rovers up to the Wolf today. Proud to own one. Even rarer it was a TA vehicle and they mainly had Champs in the 60's so a rarity.
  14. Long awaited article on Rover 8 part 1. nice images
  15. I got help from 'ferretkit' on here with my key. Mine is Key No 15. What's your number? I have a spare set of barrels and a key NOS. If Numbers match that then you may have another option too. Ta
  16. I had a key cut for me from someone who had a set of keys for most of the barrel codes. I cant remember where and when it was done as it was years ago! I do know that the key does work though, so it was a good 'Cut'. Ill try and dig out some details. Fingers crossed.
  17. Always a pleasure to welcome another LR owner. Your in Good Company :-)
  18. set acquired! I note you don't type Humvee
  19. Very Sorry! but thanks and found it now. It didn't come up under a search for Humber Pig or Humber 1 Ton
