  1. not even a very good fake....
  2. nope sorry private build based on Brave Class Hull and engines Brave Challenger was built at Vosper as a high speed yacht for Stavros Niarchos in about 1960. Her original name was Mercury. She was sold some years later to an Italian named Roberto Memmo who eventually sold her to Wensley Hayden Bailey. It was Hayden Bailey who changed her name to Brave Challenger. She is still to be seen in Portsmouth harbour some times at Gunwharf and sometimes at Gosport. Her design was based on the "Brave Class" and like them powered by 3 Proteus. She has achieved speeds of 60 knots and perhaps plus. Fine looking boat though....want it.. now where's that lottery ticket i lost down the back of the sofa ?:cool2:

When I finsh playing in Green part time I do plan to get a wee AFV to play with......would luv a ferret or a Fox. would settle for a LR Wimk as i was a landophile for many years and ran a few defenders and a Range Rover, but due to work and overseas commitments i had to sell them and go Normal..Bugger!
  8. Yes Andy fantastic looking boats..My Dad took me to see them when they were in Troon Marina when i was a kid...I thought they were Dark Class UK Boats for years than i started to look them up to see where they went..a sad end to one of the old girls.
  9. Hello all these pictures are of a NASTY Class boat wrecked in Campbelltown Loch across from the NATO jetty... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tjeld_class_patrol_boat A Norwegian Tjeld class boat they were used all over NATO and for famously by the Americans in Vietnam... powered by the awsome Napier Deltic diesel engines.. This one was bought with four of her sisters in Norway and taken to Troon they lay there for many years in the harbour/marina then sold in the early 90's...one was returned to Norway, another to the south on England (Cornwall) and again restored, and this poor thing ended up here... Here is a link for more info on the class... http://www.ptfnasty.com/
  10. I think I know just the place :cool2:....Tank Grave yard outside Kabul easy to get stuff here the Americans lifted a FT17 WW1 vintage tank from here and there has been loads of early biplanes recovered in the last few years from the other smaller scrapyard off to the left of this picture...think it would cost a fortune to get it home though :-( Got a few more to scan, its got T34's, T34/85's, BRDM's BTR's, BMD's, MTLB's, T55's and T62's and quite a few other Types.... pity its not the most handy place at the moment...but who knows in a few years !

My unit still has them (for the mortar platoon and Anti Tank platoon) and uses them, though not often main complaint is the gearbox...you need to "Use The force" to find second gear :-D They are top heavy when loaded and terrible off road...Nice looking.
