  1. hi, saw the dodge at w+p. very nice,i think im right in saying that the roper family from norfolk also have a working example of one of these vehicles! regards
  2. i keep seeing this beautiful MAN apologies for the pic quality, not an easy shot. jimmy
  3. we always use carp fishing bedchairs, when away camping with the trucks. they are fairly idiot proof to put up very comfortable, and vary in price depending on budget. lots of second hand ones on certain internet auction sites or try argos etc..
  4. we use vintage wiring of maine. there wiring kits really are the business. all correct fittings and seperately packed in clearly marked bags .with a concise laminated booklet with all the diagrams easily laid out and pictured, which is just about idiot proof, thankfully. no complaints at all, a really great product. heres a small pic in the box of one of the jeep ones we recieved a few days ago. regards jimmy
  5. the big wheels do really make them look good dont they. however the cost of importing one all the way from the states would be a night mare. you could by one from here or europe and make it look just as nice as any of them. heres our old m54 after a paint.
  6. hi mark. very interesting, were you able to clamp the earthing rod down tight enough to form the ribs with out having to peen it with the hammer? they do look very neat . must be quite thin gauge metal?. i couldnt imagine attempting this without using the brake press or the folders which we have. is the welding screen in the picture the one that you use? if so i advise you to buy a cheap light reactive one from the net , they really are the business and makes welding such alot easier. saying that you dont seem to be having much trouble with any aspects of this project.i should imagine a few things have gone flying at times.:undecided: pete doesnt look on the internet much so hasnt seen any of the pics yet, however ive definately been " bigging it up" to him and he is quite interested to see it. maybe we could drive up for a visit sometime. yes that was us on the tv a few days ago, filmed at the dump dig back in september ,it was quite amazing and far beyond our expectations. looking forward to another crack at it in the spring. did you plan for this thread to be your 166th posting? got to be a good omen right. regards jimmy
  7. at the moment, willys mb willys mc x2 hotchkiss m201 kaiser jeep m715 dodge wc 51 dodge wc 53 chevy blazer m813(?) dump bedford mj 8 run 2 dont
  8. heres a pic of ours. my brother drives it mostly ,its quick ,warm, comfy and military, almost perfect. i do like to call him colnel decker though.:-D
  9. gotcha, i thought of the m109 howitzer. isnt there one of those boxes on ebay at the moment.
  10. not really sure what he has for sale at the moment, i always found that he is a man who keeps his cards close to his chest, could be all sorts. im not sure that he ever had much armour though (m109) or did you mean m1009 blazer? i no that he sold plenty of those. again wether he has any for sale i couldnt say. i had to google the ural to see what it is, its an unusual looking creature, not with out its atraction i prefer the look of the yank m series trucks myself especially with a big set of 1400 super singles. we have an 8 series tipper which we will eventually be fitting with a side opening water purification box body for use as a camper, im presuming this is what you would like one of these urals for. certainly beats setting up the tent at the shows. we camp at w+p for over 7 days as most do and it would be nice to have a fully equipped camping truck. i often fancied a hard top jimmy w.shop body truck . regards
  11. as part of our business we hang ship tyre fenders for the port authority in great yarmouth, we do this with a bedford mj hiab. we looked at the reo a while back with the idea of possibly using it for our work. it was never going to be suitable for this but sometimes when something cool like this truck is local its rude not to have a little look at it:-D. i dont no the history of the vehicle, i expect he had it for his own use around his place. i would very much doubt that he worked it. we see him from time to time and i think he may have a 9 series wrecker which is maybe why he is selling this.
  12. weve bought several vehicles from them in the past including diamond t wrecker, bedford mk and m35 reo and have always enjoyed a good repatoir, i have heard negatives about them and read it also on this forum but i speak as i find and have never had any complaints. one thing i would say is that they always had the best stuff for sale.
  13. yes this truck is being sold by rod from marltrax .ive seen it before and its in very nice condition .those are 9 series vehicles. he delivered us a lovely new cab hood and doors for our 8 series tipper project and it came on one of these vehicles .they truly are massive when you get up close to them. not sure where he got them but are a pretty rare beast.
  14. really great thread mark .me and my dad peter spoke in great length about this with you at wantisden valley at the end of the summer and i seemed to remember you questioning the feasability of the project. being a tin basher fabricater by trade i can fully appreciate the effort and skill that has gone into this and would like to offer my congratulations to a job well done so far. judging by the pictures i think that this could be the first of many. look forward very much for more pics. regards jimmy by the way how many hours have you put in so far?
  15. there is a 1942? wc 51 for sale on the epay at the moment this also has the same 3 plates.

  17. i think the dodge is a much nicer ride than a jeep, it feels like you are in it rather than on it ,if you get my drift
