Acording to the RTR (Royal Tank Tegiment) a Tank is a vehicle designed for combat against other AFV's . A CVR(T) or CVR(W) is a reconnasince vehicle, you look you see you *** Off!

You cant ask people at RTR such technical questions :nut:.

The first tanks were infantry support, I don't know if they ever shot at another tank during WW1? A tank that is designed to kill tanks is a tank killer M10, Stug etc and people go to great length to point that out.

So if we follow the WW1 definition, infantry support a CVRT could be a tank

If we follow RTR's post modernistic reinvention of the tank "is a vehicle designed for combat against other AFV's", a M10, a Stug or even a Land Rover with a 106 recoilless is a tank!

It still irks that there is a manufacturing skill which I can't do to an acceptable standard though!

 

 

I know the feeling... I inspect welds all the time as part of my job, but can't weld at all! Mind you it is funny when at times you know more about a weld than the welder. I have a standard welder (brand new) and a TIG machine. I keep saying I want to do some TIG practice as to me the process appears similar to silver soldering or brazing where the filler, if required is dabbed in. I will have to have a play next weekend. At about 4.31 it shows the filler going in

That's normal, even pretty much today as the lift or pull is created on the curved side. You can get some more twist in some blades but I doubt in ww1 they were doing that.

I bought mine in 2006

seems targeted, as opputunist wouldn't be carrying around crowbars and sledge hammers. It would be interesting to know if the safe is visible to the public or behind closed doors.

Yeah it is pretty gruesome. I mainly brought it up as I never thought this could happen and also I tend to leave these things laying around.

There was two similar incidents recently, one was another swallowing which was fatal and another with a cheap toy watch where the sweat in the nighttime completed a circuit which resulted in severe burns overnight

I think series III's had screw jacks. Some had boxes under the bonnet and the jack handle clipped under the bonnet.

Technically, charge flows from negative (cathode) to positive (anode), so removing the negative removes the source of energy.

This might be the cause of all the confusion. Not Lauren's comment

• Positive to negative is current flow

• Negative to positive is electron flow (electrons, being negatively charged, flow in the opposite direction to the direction of conventional current flow in an electrical circuit)

Pretty sure the sparkies didn't figure out electron flow until mid 20th centuary. Kinda makes you wonder how everything worked when the original concept was wrong.
