G'Day Richard
Cheers for that bit of info. Last I was reading on here there was an announcement that the owner decided to retire and it was all uncertain. I will have to have a dig around on their website as was hoping to get over for this years one but didn't pan out. My HMVF attendence has been a lot less this year due to travelling for work.

War and Peace has ceased to exist or has someone taken over the concept?

Lucky no-one had chained themselves to the brambles to protect the rare and endangered badgers that live there

As soon as the GPR discussion started the odds of reality has dropped. As with what Ruxy said GPR is as blind as a mole and relies on the homogeneity of the dirt (an inexact science at best).
Last I looked GPR looking at the depths discussed would be even worse plus bulking but no-one noticed these guys trundling around the countryside with a 4x4 towing the GPR. Still hope something gets dug up but the rent a crowd experts the news media always drag in take logic and throw it out the window.

A few Acmat fuel tanks coming up on Mod-Sales, hopefully some other Acmat gear will come up. Whacked a bid in as saw they had the locking cap system. What is odd though, is I thought the locking cap was sitting on the top of the tank, but after zooming in it appears to be a second fill point...... Seems weird, locking cap under the floor and non-locking cap on the exterior fill point :???

Apparently why it is being taken seriously is the German and the Pole have engaged a lawyer to get the 10% finders fee. Many have claimed before but not paid for a lawyer up front.
Hopefully it's not one eyed optimism

Robin
also it seems that canadians received or borrowed some of the British Army ferrets
and maybe Candian Army did no have to return them back due to some reasons ? :=)
pekka
That's kind of an interesting theory as the Australian Army did that on several occasions e.g. the 'other country' deemed something uneconomical to repair and the Aussies repaired it, or we just pinched it
I guess Robin will track the hull numbers back to the contract. Always interesting to see the different quirks Robin finds.

I was told about these Hagglunds up Penang a year ago and to date I haven't had a chance to get up there due to work and travel. My mate who owns the yard I tinker in could help himself and bought one, so at least I have some more internal pictures.
I haven't seen them up close as yet as once again away but this weekend most likely. I'll also find out how many are left

The gearbox is closely resembling a Dodge,

Do you have any pictures of the FWH's that you fitted last time? Curious as Acmat's a supposedly an upgrade of the Dodge system.
In reality I haven't seen anything mechanically Dodge like from an interchangeability point of view but I may be looking at the wrong dodge manuals.

I see most the guys drill holes in the bottom of them to allow them to drain. I am sure someone will chime in for the best locations

This promises to be an interesting thread! And a huge amount of work!! I enjoyed reading your thread on steel soldiers site describing the journey from UK to California. Keep the pix coming.

So, we could define a tank as a vehicle that is designed to go anywhere with ease, except onto a trailer. Does this make a trailer the best defence there is against a tank?

anti tank trailer weaponised

Mate, no need to be sorry. I was just thinking out loud and typing at the same time 😊
Need to get to one and spend a few nights instead of a day trip.
