  1. I did not delete them and I can now access the forum again. As noted, HMVF was the only website I had troubles accessing. I am not complaining, just letting you know there are sometimes problems accessing HMVF. Hanno
  2. Yes, I have a pre-WW2 Dutch bike. It is unrestored and I have used it at Beltring and Normandy to get around places. The Dutch Bicycle Infantry units were quite succesfull in 1940. They were able to move swiftly and silently. I can see why the Swiss still see a requirement for them. Hanno
  3. No, HMVF is the ONLY website I have problems accessing!
  4. The same screen as when a website is down. I am back in as per today, I could not reach the forum for 12 days. . . :-( Hope all problems are solved now! Hanno
  5. Another pic of a surviving one, the remains of the Studebaker Weasel carried on the trailer give an indication of its size. H.
  6. No dancing girls here mate, it's just me jumping up and down in front of the computer because I cannot get my daily HMVF fix Again have not been able to view the HMVF site for the past three days, all other web sites are accessible so there must be something wrong?!? Or is it just you want to keep the Dutch guys out . . . .
  7. Hi all, I have not been able to access HMVF for days (nearly a week I think), finally back in today I find no mention of major problems whatsoever. Was this a problem on my side of the pond (Holland) only?!?!? Thanks, Hanno
  8. I´d opt for Schwimmerisch, sounds more Germanic Looking great Mark, keep up the good work! I am sure when finished it will fool many experts. . . .
  9. Not seen the film but from the marketing material I saw I remember a Stuart M5A1 Medium Tank, suitably modified. A Google search confirms this: http://www.kideternal.com/jetgirl/
  10. Ted, Excellent, thanks! Your two pictures show there was a variation in both body types and colours. Would you say that green-brown-sand camouflage scheme was typical for Greek Cypriot National guard vehicles? Or was sand the prevalent colour? Regards, Hanno
  11. Hallo Jaap, Good to see you here as well! Hanno
  12. Proper name is "foul weather driving hood", IIRC. I have them for Sherman, both large and small hatch, can post pictures later.
  13. Steve, Correct, this picture was taken in the new Canadian War Museum facility. It shows the Tracked Jeep I mentioned earlier, it used to be stored at CWM´s Vimy House storage location. Hanno
  14. Ted, Thanks for the story. Seems in your search for wartime vehicles you "discovered" the yard was your converting "top secret" gun tractors. All that while your pregnant wife was waiting outside, some cover you had there Mr. Bond I used to live in Larnaca as a small boy, military vehicles were all over the place, patrolling and convoying Greeks through Turkish towns or the other way around. Wartime vehicles I remember were a GMC truck set up as some sort of drilling rig, plus of course the Willys jeep which was standing derelict in the street where one of my friends lived! Man, the hours we spent behind the wheel "driving" that Jeep. If you come across any more pictures of those GG Bedford gun tractors, please post them here. Thanks! Hanno

  17. It looks like it is one of these BMK-130M's: http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?8879-Russin-towed-boat-type-thingy! H.
  18. Can't remember the designation, but it is a Soviet engineer's type workboat to erect bridges etc. It has two wheels recessed in the hull sides which swivel down so it can be trailered behind a truck and launched into a river. There is quite a number of these around in the canals of Holland, all migrated here after the fall of the Berlin Wall. H.
  19. Ted, Thanks for this interesting information, and Mark for bringing up the question! As a small boy I lived in (on?) Cyprus and this is really where my interest in HMV´s started, hence my interest in all vehicles used on Cyprus. I do recall the Land Rovers, Stalwarts etc, but not these Bedfords. Were the cargo bodies locally built by the or were they taken off other vehicles? Hanno

  21. I hope so, too. There was a variant built by Marmon-Herrington, too. The Canadian War Museum has a Tracked Jeep in its collection, plus there is another survivor in Canada.
  22. Nice footage, have not seen it all yet but already during the first few minutes a CMP comes into view: Chevrolet C15A. Where is it now? I hope it survived! H.
  23. Nope, it was sold to the Liberty Museum in Arlon Belgium, which folded and the collection was sold to an American collector before I could buy the PU8/4. The American collector in Auburn, Indiana, USA. He passed away recently and this collection is now relocated to Florida. H.
  24. Sounds like this one: http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?15322-T34-anyone Sold for 21k at auction October last year.
  25. Please view http://tinyurl.com/ygqy4wp No really, it is that bad!
