Iain - she's getting dusty! Time for a quick drive round, perhaps?
Andy
Hi Andy she is a bit, but we are hopefully putting up a new museum building this winter so we'll give her a spin out then when we shuffle vehicles around . most of the dust is from the tanks running round the track all summer gets like a sandstorm up here with 12 tanks working continuously.
hows yours doing any more progress .
p.s trevor, the scrappers she came from was just outside markham moor near chesterfield and before that she was with everyman leisure driving experiance centre at mallory park i think.

Before you all get carried away in buying the 40 HSTs ,they are meant to be in a very rough state , no engines or transmissions or rear bodies !!! ,then you have got to transport them to the docks and then import them to the uk with a rather large shipping bill , you might be better in leaving your 7 grand in your pocket .
my thoughts exactly its never as simply as handing over the money and your vehicle turning up next week as many people on here will testify .
Then there is the small restoration bill !!!!!

are ferret lift pumps the same as the 2 on centurion meteor engine or would that be far to simple as we have one duff lift pump and one not so duff and am in need of 2 repair kits
sorry to stray slightly but seemed an opportune moment

Iain, first off my heartfelt thanks to yourself and everyone at Armourgeddon for hosting us so well Sunday before last. My wife had bought the tank paintballing voucher for my birthday, and she and the girls really enjoyed coming along and learning to fight in the tank battle! My particular thanks to yourself for taking the time to show me the Sherman in your workshop.
Since then I have been busy writing up Armourgeddon and its tank collection. The profile page for the collection is here. The complete collection page is here, but I'd like to go through each vehicle one by one with you to make sure I've got my facts right. The best place to start must be the Sherman:
Unique ID 1841: M4 (105) Sherman Tanks, Armourgeddon, Husbands Bosworth
Please check it through and let me know if there's any more information you can add. Also, can I add a selection of your photos from this forum (I'll post to show what I've used each time)?
Hanno, can you give a specific, or at least representative, location for this?
Trevor ,
photos look good thanks for posting i will re post the link as a progress report if thats ok and feel free to use any of my previously posted photographs if you need . also any othe imfo you need dont hesitate to get in touch .
cheers and beers

i had my camera stolen by a thieving scumbag at war and peace. he swiped my jacket from my feet whilst i rolled a cigarette, we caught him but he had already rinsed the pockets and the camera had been passed onto an accomplise unfortunately security were next to useless didnt want to help .
These scum are so brazen i'm glad the guy who stole the guns at cobbaton was caught and the police took it seriously.

i ran my old vauxall astra L reg with the izuzu engine for 12 months no worries on neat veg oil from the supermarket added about 15 % diesal in the winter tho else you get a lot of piston slap. also same for my old ford transit M reg .
going to move back onto veg oil in my escort van soon.
only problem i found was, i was perminently hungry when driving because of the aroma of cooking fat.

mix a bit of engine oil with it to lube the pump, should work fine
we run on a 25% old oil 25% red diesal 50% kero or there abouts no harm done to 15 working fv432,s in at least 3 yrs .

Chas
should be 2 discs about an inch thick that sit in the towing eyes on front and rear of fv43--
then the pins sit thru and you have no slop havent got any pics at moment but can get some if you need

I believe (if memory serves from last year) Sharky has both real & fake versions down at Armourgeddon.
Over to you Iain ?
H
sort of, we have 3 original turrets and rings, 2 of which were on the vehicles when we bought them from withams but there are fitted with the normal commanders capola instead of the flat type. the turret data plates do say fv432/30.
