I have seen wear holes in the gun venturi before, this stops it working properly
-
There is a piece inside that breaks if you strip it down completely you will find it. It is a common breakdown with most type of needle gun you should be able to order the part on its own we used to.

Make sure you secure your hatch canvas before you set off else its a long way for Howard to go back for it..

Cracked brake drum can sometimes go unnoticed?

Big thank you to nelz,Stuart debz and the rest of the team.
Yorkshire wartime experience is without doubt the friendliest show I have attended with a good mix of vehicles and other demonstrations to see.
This is a brilliant show held in the north which hopefully has shown its true potential and will attract even more support from vehicle owners on hmvf as it deserves so next year will be even bigger and better.
Well done again you guys should be very proud and thank you to all on here who attended with some wonderfully turned out vehicles.

I am just in the process of setting up my own premises to run my restoration business from and have spent almost the whole day on the phone trying to get a qoute for insurance to cover P.L.I, contents and tools, but to no avail.most companies cant seem to grasp the military or historical side and offer road going motor traders policy which does not cover my needs, can anyone suggest a company that can help.Google just seems to throw up dead ends.
thanks in advance

I might be interested in taking my tractor unit down but I wont be down all week, if you fancy babysitting her this could work.

Afternoon all, I have just imported from belguim a 1944 Marmon Herrington H-542-11 also known as a M426.
The parts were built by various factories in the US then final build were carried out by international harvester(6678 built), kenworth(1100) and Marmon Herrington(3200)
My unit has its original International Red 450D engine and the truck is 99%complete And will be undergoing a restoration over the near future.
Anyway heres some pictures.

I can only offer advice on my experience, I purchased a second hand motorcycle from the Netherlands from a private individual that was already registered in The Netherlands so had a Dutch registration document and he gave me a receipt to prove I had paid for it.On arriving back in the UK customs did not want to know and after looking in the back of the van waved me through. They never mentioned the NOVA process which I found out about when I tried to register it.I filled in the nova paperwork on line which said I owed nothing and then registration was the same as normal. This was before it was transferred to Swansea. So apart from the purchase price and the transport costs this did not cost me anything else.
Hope this helps Simon
thanks for your reply Simon I have experienced the nova system which is very hit and miss at their end.the vehicle I am looking to bring in is a truck so would have to be either driven in or trailered in so might draw a bit more attention. just didnt want to buy a fairly cheap vehicle and end up paying same value in taxes again. having looked on the hmrc site the is mention of 0 to5% import duty so that isnt to bad.
-
Morning all I need some quick advice. if I was to import a vehicle into the UK from an eu country what kind of import duties could I expect to pay and or any other costs that might occur.
I dont want this thread bogged down in legislation etc just a brief outline the rest I will no doubt encounter and have to figure out myself.
Many thanks

the ammo box in one of the pictures says it all.. Inert, you have to love the quality journalism nothing like repeating scant facts and padding it out with words like FEAR, FELL INTO WRONG HANDS,
