My girlfriend Sophie purchased this at the weekend a 1956 ex army fire service pipe carrier bedford rl. It was destined for the scrapman.
We will be looking for a body if anyone can help.
Cheers

Hi, From Nottingham/Leicester
I’m a new member living near theNottinghamshire/Leicestershire border. I’m yet to purchase my first militaryvehicle but I am actively looking for the right Willys MB Jeep.
The reasons for this new urge, is verysentimental, my dad passed away last week. In the 1970’s he was a jeepenthusiast and I have many happy memories of family trips and also watching himwork and tinker on these vehicles. He also served in WW2, where he worked onand drove many vehicles, including jeeps. He served in the 2ndLothian and Borders, during the Italian campaign. Although I can’t find theoriginal, I know a photo of one of his jeeps featured in a early book aboutthese vehicles.
So that’s me, weaned on Jeeps as a child and looking to jointhose ranks again. In the meantime, I’m also looking for someone willing orable to hire a WW2 jeep to lead my dad’s funeral cortege, this takes place inLeicester on the 4th of Feb, so I’ve not got much time to arrangeit. I know it’s a longshot!
Sorry to hear about your father.
There are a few people near to you maybe try armourgeddon at Lutterworth nice chaps or try mike at AMD four wheel drive at merrylees both on milweb list or via Google and may help you out with a jeep for the funeral.
Welcome to the forum
My condolences again

Your very limited on what engine will fit in a sherman engine bay. The original radial is tight enough.

They are plentiful here, Down-under, as well.
It seems every air braked WW2 US truck had dozens of them, and the larger sizes, and they can be found on almost every wreck here.
I would happily swap a big handful for a pair of bonnet (hood) stays for my 969.
Have a nice day.
Sam.
Sam I have some diamond T parts lurking in the man cave but no bonnet stays i'm afraid but I will ask a man who might know of some for you.
Hopefully Hoseman (Paul) is locating some fittings for me so Liverpool to leeds is a bit easier on the postage.

If these are the 5/8" hex size I have a fair number of used ones in stock. How many do you need?
PM me if interested.

3 tank transporters at A5/A43 roundabout Towcester today, very impressive sight, even though they were unladen.
Saw 4 of them on the M1 on Fri around Nottingham laden with 3 AS90's and an avre type vehicle awesome sight

You have to pay for quality Stu, look what happend with the other company......I rest my case (lol).
Could nt agree with you more Craig sorry I wasnt about this weekend but family commitments prevented it. Must admit got soaked to the skin Friday sorting thru that curtain sided trailer and my boots are still on the radiator. Hat off to you guys having seen it all in the flesh so to speak you had a massive task in front of you and you got it done.

Hi, Hagerty couldnt be better, good prices interested in the vehicles including those under restoration. Also, recovered my Ford f30 from france after normandy with no hassles at all !
Andy
I use hagerty and they have been brilliant so far worth ringing before you try the bigger names. Must add mine is still on chassis number and they are happy for it to remain until l change it no time limits
