  2. Hi Steve, Thats no problem, I will be at Gunpowder mills as a visitor on the Sunday possibly so see you there.. Cheers, Mick.
  3. Here are a few pics we took, of the convoy and the show.... Tylers Landy My Ferret Good Turnout Some quite bad photography taken out the back of a ferret hatch.... K4+ Landy Letting the rest of the convoy catch up and the traffic pass.. Here is one for you Jack.... SU-100 in the main arena Nice 434 The Airfield Race/ Cavalcade!! Also RE Lloyd, I did see Connie mate but you obviously weren't with the vehicle so I wasn't able to say hello!! Thanks, great show, Mick.
  4. Once we get some Duxford pictures we can use them!!! :wink I'll be posting some up soon!! Just have to remember the camera! :? :-o Mick.
  5. I just love that!! 25mph around the airfield!! We are usually doing about 40 and there is still Landy's etc. whizzing past us!!
  6. I totally agree Paul, I like WW2 stuff, but I love post war stuff too!! Up until the early 80's is my limit until it starts to get modern and boring.... My son is a member of the OLD lawnmower club (yes I know thatn you're all laughing  ) And in their newsletters they usually go up to about 1960's machines and then it starts to get more modern, it is different in each hobby really. Motorbikes is a very big example, in Classic Bike Guide they feature lots of articles and ads on modern sportsbikes..WHAT?? Thanks, Mick.
  7. I think that if it is over 20 years old, it is a classic, past that and you really start getting into all the more modern almost more 'electronic' stuff, also, another very small thing I have to moan about, I am not being disrespectful in any way towards the Willys/Hotchkiss jeep, but the sheer amount of articles in both mags on jeeps is quite a lot, sometimes I just get a little fed up with it, If it is something interesting like the Wasp Flamethrower jeep mentioned in recent mags that is interesting, but normal jeeps again and again can get annoying. I find that some of the larger kit such as Saracens and Stollies from the late 50's and early 60's is interesting, as I can just dream on about being a step up from the trusty ferret!! Thanks, Mick.
  8. Thats Good, can't wait to see it, is she sprayed up in sand? Will look good if it's sunny!!
  9. Well guys I see you have similar thoughts to me!! I don't mind the odd bit in the news section about some kind of new challenger variant or something.. Thats fine, but a double page spread etc. of a load of modern vehicles and modernish ones from south africa or something that nobody's heard of!! It just gets too excessive sometimes! I am not saying they are bad magazines, but instead of filling it full of modern stuff to fill some of the pages in, maybe they should make the mag a little bit shorter and a bit cheaper and basically keep us interested. :!: Thanks, Mick.

Hi all, I'm not saying that there is anything bad about this but sometimes don't you just get a bit tired at the amount of articles about modern bits of kit in CLASSIC Miltiary Vehicle? I find Jacks article about the jimmy very interesting as well as the show reports etc. I'd like to see what you think.... Mick.
  11. Tyler, Have you got any news on newsletters and badges yet? Regards, Mick.
  12. See you there then Lloyd!! No problem about the new post steve, it's good, well done! Mick.
  13. Hi Tyler, If Paul was slacking off then what were you doing??!! Very nice truck, keep the good work up for Duxford!! Cheers, Mick.
  14. Hi Steve, Do you know what time the show starts? As I was thinking of some time around 9:30? Depends what tyler and richard think. Thanks, mick.
  15. Hi all, Right I think I have got my bearings, Meet at the Huntingdon area.Where exactly we shall have to see..... Then we go down the A1198. Steve and the two jeeps will meet us at Wimpole lodge... when exactly I am not sure. depends on what you lot want to do. Then we go straight down the A505 towards Duxford. God thats going to look good.. anyone else who wants to join and create a humungous traffic jam.. do so now!!  Mick.
  16. So then people, remind me. Where were we meeting up on the convoy? When exactly? What route are we taking again? I know this was my idea but I am not good at remembering things!! Thanks, Mick.

Well that could be a bit difficult driving around the country being a rep in a Ferret at 50mph, I like to just sit back and cruise at 70......yeah right! Also carrying carpets and samples could be quite hard with no storage space! I suppose a Jimmy with a mighty big engine would be better!! Lots of space and a fair turn of speed! Cheers, Mick.
  19. Interesting topic GWT, I know that a French farmer was ploughing when he smashed into something very hard with the plough, he found later that he had ploughed up a Sherman. 8) If only I would have dug up a Sherman........ Mick.
  20. Hi karoshi, sorry I won't be at overlord. I don't actually have any of my Jimmies anymore but before I sold them I took all the parts I could off of them so now I have a palletful of GMC spares in my shed, there is a new(I think) head in there. I used to have some bar tread tyres and some cloverleafs (poor jack) but they have been sold off now. Thanks, Mick.
  21. Hi Jack, Do you want our pioneer tool rack for your GMC? £15 is what I want for it Mick.
  22. It's because he rollered it! Not sprayed it excessively.
  23. Yes Jack, I read it too, and it was very good. Mick.
  24. Hi Leithreas, Yes you probably want something like a Landy, but if you have enough money I would advise you to get a Daimler Ferret, I done that 4-5 years ago, (only because my son was tugging my arm off) and I have never regretted it since, best fun i've ever had on four wheels. It turns a lot of heads and gets a lot of attention at shows too. Good Luck. Mick.
