  1. This is how I connected the lighting on my trailer. I used an original connector to the jeep. Problem was the 'new' rules for trailer (light, indicators and brake) I solved this by using the mass-connection by the towinghook and coupling. I know that some people use a modern connector with 7 wires. Maybe I can get my hands on another 10 cwt gs trailer. I was told it was modified after the war, but I do have a spare-axle, springs and rims. I also have some other spare-parts, including the old coupling (dismantled)
  2. My family has had an Onan 2Kw generator model OTC-17 for many years. Probably my grandfather got it after the war and we used it till the nineties. But now I'm thinking of bringing it back to it original form. I only haven't got the manuals and am also looking for more pictures. Who can help me?? My Onan generator An example how it was used in New Zealand Cheers, Arjan
  3. Hello, My brother bought this wireless body some years ago. Maybe on this thread I can find out what this type is, on which vehicle it belongs and what year it's from. The roof is not original, and placed on the original roof.
  4. Do you have a picture of the part you're looking for?
  5. I'm not sure it's the same. after a long search in the files, I found a picture of a contract plate in a other Austin. It's mounted on the dashboard.
  6. I haven't tried the Austin 10 owners club. The data plate is a typical War Department issue. The contractnumber is stamped into this plate.
  7. a few years ago I bought a reproduction contract date plate for my Austin. it was a small standard plate used in many British vehicles. Unfortunatelety I've missplaced the date plate, and can't find it. Does anyone know where I can buy a new one?
  8. My Austin Tilly had her maiden voyage this April. I have done two rallys in May. How is yours going. If you need information about the Austin...
  9. My Austin Tilly came also from malta. Four of them came in 2004 to The Netherlands and where painted white, black or blue/white.
  10. Thanks for the link. Tent R.D. Small (JA 1839) does look the most similar. The tent is being repared at this moment, so I can't make a good photo of it. It did manage to make a simple drawing of the tent. Please take notice of the shape of the the groundsheet.
  11. The Austin Tilly wheels have four wheels studs. The Hillman Tilly has wheels with 3 studs. I think you are looking for wheels of a Hillman Tilly, or maybe a Hillman Minx.
  12. I've recently bought an British (officers?)tent, stamped "1945" and "Bombay". Now I'm looking for British WD manuals about tentpitching. Can someone help finding out more about this tent?
  13. Hello, At my site you can follow the progress of a few restorations, including my own Austin Tilly. http://www.austintilly.nl Cheers, Arjan
  14. The Motley mount was used for AA. There are a few versions : MkI till MkIV have only one Bren LMG on it. Because more firepower was needed these mount were adjusted so they could hold two Bren LMG (the Mk1A till Mk IVA. A new mount MkV was also developed for two Bren LMG. The mount were indeed for 15cwt Trucks such as the Bedford, but some were mounted in Light utility Trucks like the Austin, Hillman and Morris. More information can be found in : "Small Arms Training Volume I, Pamplet No. 6 (G.S. Publication 936, 1943)" The picture shows (I think) a Motley Mount Mk1A. If it´s possible I would love to have that picture for an article I writing about the Motley. Cheers, Arjan van der Hoek
  15. Or is it a Hillman? I've a austin tilly( still restoring). Cheers, Arjan
