I may be looking for a couple of drivers if i can get the two urals ready and the gaz 69 along with maybe a kraz and zil i may need a bit of driver assistance,...at the moment only one ural is really ready the other needs her brake master cylinders changing, they should arrive next week... The Kraz and ZIl all depend upon paperwork, money and a bit more time......both of which are in short supply right now..been spending too much...

I am not in this market, I think paying say top dollar for a truck, then paying 10% on top to the auctioneer and then another 17.5% VAT if you are not registered seems way out.
so chieftain...sells say at 18k not bad price, add 10% auctioneers fees, 1800 so its now 19800, then 17.5% VAT is 23,265....thats getting seriously heavy, and some 5k of it goes out of our industry into government and non collectors pockets...
Sad way to do it in my humble opinion.

I am real keen to get one of these, anyone got any tips on what to look for....
-
tis a big list Neil, what bits you got missing from the list...

I was just interested to know how the foden pulled 13 tons with a 220 engine...seems too small to me...but he says its fine...
-
the boys know i don't pussy foot around with my vehicles, they are for using and for fun although this year has been particularly expensive on repairs and things...
-
what price in SA...it cant be that much to have them shipped, they wont go in a container so its open air shipping but I would guess it will be around 2-4k dollars per vehicle, if the price is right it might work out possible...
-
okay you are welcome...will let you know once its here along with your tyres..
-
I have just bought one, never driven one before and have heard all sorts of stories...can some one give me the low down. i will be getting the manuals but need some input from your sages out there, who generally know more than any manual...

I am now the proud owner of a mk 5 d saracen...ooh cant wait to collect it get it registerd, 2.45m wide so no problems there...will be real fun...have wanted one of these since I was a kid...need all the manuals and spares for it now...assume some engine parts will be like the stolly, i have one or two spares for the stolly...

over revving is the biggest danger to a rod...there are other mods but if you just increase the charge and the rods are not too weak they should be okay but going from 175 to 300 is a big hike. It will likely affect something long term if the engines made by rolls are anything to go by...

diff strip maybe

Was on hogmoor as rescue vehicle but was not needed much, only rescued two vehicles...but did have a play...
the urals are really excellent off road, those tyres are very good and grippy..
