  1. Now the Summer is opening up for all of us! 😀

Here is an opportunity, to acquire the Ultimate Vehicle for Summer shows! At a SENSIBLE Price Too!

I am very reluctantly putting My Willys Jeep up for sale. The reason is, I have another Bigger vehicle coming. & I cant drive them all!

It is a 1945 Willys MB. Restored to Hotchkiss M201 Spec. Having owned all three variants over the years. In my opinion, this is the best variant!

ALL new canvas with winter side screen kit. (There's £850 before you even start! ) All New Canvas Cushion's ( £350 ) Aerial Antenna Mount.

Pioneer Tools, Almost new tyres all round. ( Spare has never been on the road ) Brand new 24v Alternator conversion. As the Original French Gennie system was always playing up! Starts First time & Drives superbly! Jeeps pretty near always have 'Play' in the steering system of some small kind. This one has Zero play! & drives in a straight line!

I am asking £18,000 For her. As similar Jeeps Without New canvas Etc, Etc. Are at £23-£24,000 on Milweb! 0r, VERY near 0ffer!

    Tax & MOT Exempt!

Vehicle located in Kent. right Next to the M20 Motorway!

  6. I'm here with an Enquiry, that I'm hoping someone may be able to Help Me with?

Dose anyone know, How to turn / convert / modify. Black Leather into / back to Brown at all?

There must be a way, as I recall at one time. My Friend the recently deceased. Gary Howard told Me He had discovered this process. But Now Gary has passed. This will be impossible to ask him. 😞 I wish I had asked Him at the time. But back then I had no interest!...

He who hesitates! We have all done it!.....😩

    Thanks in advance.

    Mike. 👍

  9. The MK.III Sten, had a Particular Modification. Especially for Motorcyclist's.

This Mod is in E.M.E.Rs & concern's the sling position.

Under NORMAL usage. The Front of the sling's metal attachment clip. Was inserted through two holes UNDENEATH, in the Gun Casing. & squeezed closed. To prevent the clip from falling out.

The Gun was meant to have the sling hang round the Neck of Motorcyclists ONLY.

If this was enacted with an UNMODIFIED MK.II Sten. The gun would hang upside down! So, The Top Rib of the casing. had Two slightly oval holes drilled in it. A short way back from the Front 'Sight'. Which was also part of the rib.

This Mod enable the Sten to hang round the riders neck. In the upright position.

You dont see Photo's of a magazine in the Gun. When the Gun is slung from the Neck though!....It would have been very awkward to carry like that!

Examine a MK.II Sten along the top rib. SOME have been modified. Some have not!

I think it is safe to say that it is game over. Will be interesting when people start to ask for the money that is owed to them....

A lot already Have Jack. 'The guilty' have been taken to the small claims courts. & the Claimant's claims upheld. I would advise anyone who really wants thier financial outlays to be returned. To do the same.

    For the AC presumably a specific frequency too e.g. 50Hz, 60Hz, 400Hz.

If not 50Hz for e.g. the UK a transformer from the mains would not suffice. Likewise for e.g. USA 60Hz.

Ive pretty much given up on this, as a practical project!  I will put it up for sale, or preferably swap for an R109 Reciever.

    Hi

I am afraid it is not as simple as that

From the circuit diagram of the Power Supply, it looks like the radio needs [You will need to double check these before powering up the radio]

    Pin A     0V Common Ground

    Pin B     +1.4V DC

    Pin C     6.3V AC

    Pin D     +250V DC

    Pin E      +100V DC

    Pin F      19V DC

    Pin G     6.3V AC

    Pin H     0V Common Ground

    Pin J      +19V DC

    Pin K      6.3V AC

    Pin L      No Connection

    Pin M    No Connection

Might be easier to find a matching power supply

    Cheers

    Richard

Now I just KNEW things were going too well! 😁  I should  have known with my luck. This wouldnt be as straight forward as i assumed!....

so,......Anyone want to swap an R109 Reciever set. For an R216?.........😀

    Hi

That is the 12 Pin Plessey Mk4 connector Fine thread

You should be able to make a power supply, I don't know what voltages are need and what pins on the 12 Pin plug they are connected to.

Some manuals are on line, but I don't have a circuit diagram for the radio to hand

    see http://www.vmarsmanuals.co.uk/archive/2045_R216_Illustrated_Parts_List.pdf

    and http://www.vmarsmanuals.co.uk/archive/2019_R216_User_Manual.pdf

I will check to see if I have a suitable mating connector

    Cheers

    Richard

My thoughts are, if I can find the pos & neg input terminal. Then confirm what voltage is needed to power it up 12v Or 24V? Then it should be easy t fit a couple of wires to the plug & see if the set works?

    Hi

Have you just got the radio, the power supply is a separate unit, I recall that it can be used with a DC supply or Mains supply, the connectors use are Plessey Mk4 connectors, I am pretty sure that these are the fine thread ones and not the course thread ones used on Larkspur Equipment

For DC supply you need a 2 Pin Plessey Mk4 Fine thread free socket

For AC supply you need a 3 Pin Plessey Mk4 Fine thread free socket

The for the radio you need a 12 Pin Plessey Mk4 Fine thread free socket, the mating half that connects to the Power Supply is a 12 Pin Plessey Mk4 Fine thread free plug

I have probably got all the sockets/plugs you need, feel free to PM me

    Cheers

    Richard

Hello Richard, Oh Dear! I was not aware that the R216 had a separate power supply unit? I thought it was the same as the R109 & you just put power in on it's own?

I have done two photo's of the input socket. one with camera flash & one without.
