Hello and welcome. nothing wrong with a knockometer and wrench. Just ask the questions and the answers will appear or an alternative.

Looks like the outer ring of nuts holds the two pieces of the wheel together, and the inner circle of nuts holds the wheel to the hub. Tubless tyres are not as well finished off on the inside as tubed, and tend to rub the tube and cause premature punctures. That said short or infriquent journeys probably would not make any difference.

Last year the bus breakers at Barnsley had some and some spares at Lea, Crankshaft and other bits

They do set the bench mark at some height. I would describe my work as inch out engineering by comparison.

I can sense competition, are you going head to head with the Tank factory for finish? High class work.

Never mind. Quality repair, I always had the aggrigates to rub my aluminium welding down when I had a tipper body to repair. Some loader drivers thought it was their mission in life to get the load around the propshaft through the floor.

Sounds like an igniter problem, electrodes are usually the problem. Gloves required the sooty oily stuff takes some getting off your hands.

Jealous, what a workshop.

Carefull with comments like :and free: with a wifey who can read this, they can come back to haunt you.

Cumming together nicely. Another unseen positive is that as it comes together you get brownie points for getting your {junk} out of the house.

Welcome to the young generation. Best of luck, any pictures?

Stripping the wheels is hard work. If you can get some blocks of wood in between the two halves and get the half with the studs in off first. You can then get the other half onto a stand. A good round block of wood makes a good stand if you can get one the right height. Fox wedges a bead knocker and soft soap with a good Mel. I always use ear defenders so that I cannot hear myself swearing

A general rule of thumb. If the vehicle is used for Hire and Reward a record must be kept. Also an Operators Licence will be required. If the vehicle is kept for Private use and none commercial none profit making a record does not need to be kept.Although the 10 hour blanket U.K. driving rule must be adheared to. Keep a blank disk in the unit so as not to damage the stylus on the old style tachograph. It is generaly best to use a recording device if fitted to keep a record for maintainance of the vehicle. A profesional driver who has to keep a record of his previous 28 days duty and driving time with him if he is driving anything other than a private car or bike, will use a fitted recording device if he is using a vehicle to keep a record of what he has done, making it easier to explain if he gets stopped by an enforcement agency person. So as not to compromise his normal fixed working week. That is the way I interperated the rules when I drove C+E etcetera

We used to have wind up inertia starters on Bowmag towed vibrating rollers with Ford 4D and Deutz engines.

To carry it off it needs an interested front person and an interesting topic. He can get where ordinary people would not get invited. It is a watchable mix of the serious and funny bits. Uncovering vehicles and people in a rich mix. Telling a story and giving insight to hidden gems. Addictive

It may be usefull to some one, I have a digital one that was supposed to be 12 volt for my pick up but when it came it was 24volt. Everything has a use it just depends how long you can keep it. I can only open my she door, to get in I have to put stuff outside. I lost most of my stuff in a fire years ago, but the heap keeps growing.

Sounds like an analog tacho with a round face, It uses a daily chart. There was also had a version, oblong box with a tray that you put the chart on.They have been superceded by digital ones with a drivers card. They are saleable but a small market I would think.

If it is available it will sell, :nut:

If you have done your best, that is all you can do. People at the vineyard seem to be Honerable and deserve thanks for their patience and commitment to the project. I would imagine that dealing with people with magnotrometers and excavators is out of their comfort zone. Keep talking to them and form your loop, keep everyone on the same page. Well done to everyone on the project. Maybe if you suggest laying down a few bottles of Covanter Recovery as a momento for people who cannot be there it would give them another reason to keep with the team.

Must feel great when a plan works. Good luck with the recovery.
