The plunger is shown fully extended, when it is depressed into the block it becomes latched & is held down halfway in. When the side lever is pressed laterally the plunger is released up with significant force.

Is there much left of the ambulance? I see it has that RAF style power socket so that the batteries are always on trickle charge. I met someone at a show who was after one of those. Are there any other fittings? Often people buy ambulances striped of the fittings by the previous owner who threw them out went it went into camper mode. So fittings etc are often sought after.

I've looked through what I have got but I can only conclude it would contain vast amounts of books, manuals, forms, catalogues esp Manuals of Army Ordnance Services, Vocabularies of Army Ordnance Stores, Materiel Regulations for the Army etc, lots of clip boards, telephones & typewriters & I don't think you could go far wrong.
