  1. Yes Lee, well done & very tastefully put. Game over. It is a 1921 Hindu Latrine, religious/cultural customs required that No.1 & No.2 should be kept separate. The covering was just sacking to keep the flies out. For those who have an interest in pit latrines there is a newsletter with a worldwide membership of 177 :shake: http://www.lboro.ac.uk/departments/cv/wedc/garnet/pitnet4.html
  2. Think about a normal latrine then compare it with the one here, there is a significant difference in the way that it operates.
  3. Um well if you look at the posting on 3rd Sept it will explain (eventually) http://www.hmvf.co.uk/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=38&topic=1059.30
  4. You make it sound as if I would normally put milk down my loo!
  5. Well that's an idea, but you musn't say that, it is "co-joined"
  6. I expect a few of us could rally round & give you a few turns on the thrashing drum if you like :naughty: Just think and it was at GDSF 2 years ago when Kevin handed me a card telling me about the new forum.
  7. Sorry you missed it Ashley. Bit wet on Sat, Sun was dry but windy. Such a shame when a handful of people put in a lot of time and effort to make it happen for the rest of us. Sue & Jerry made everyone feel welcome & always make a point of thanking each exhibitor as they left, which makes people feel appreciated. So to reciprocate a big thanks to them both for doing it for another year. And gosh, I say, what a pair of beauties here! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v684/fv1620/DSCF4746a.jpg[/img]
  8. 29 Aug - 2 Sept. Who's going? I shall be there with Hornet + Cipher trailer. It now seems I am going but for 2 days that was in doubt as I have been searching for my passes. Panic over, found the passes in a folder with pension policies, in a box file labelled waste disposal in with my wife's horsey stuff! Security is very tight, tickets are filled in with vehicle registration even the support vehicle. Although the Hornet pass has my postcode entered instead! Not that it would effect anyone here but last year Customs & Excise were dipping tanks as you go in to check for red diesel. Even tractors exhibited in the show shouldn't use red, as the use is for showing rather than agricultural.

    RUC Heavies

I don't know it seems to have dried up. I have bought in the last 5 years two hats, a WPC hat, a tunic, two m/cycle type riot helmets, three types of black respirator bags, two note books, four volumes of legal reference books. But the guy who said he had the contract for clearing out stations hasn't had anything for a couple of years all he gets now is PSNI stuff.
  10. Defence jobs in Wales are being lost at DSDC (Defence Storage & Distribution Centre) Llangenach. They are responsible for the printing & distribution of AESPs, EMERs, JSPs etc. Service users are being actively encouraged to get the info via military system on-line as 80% of documentsw are now available in that format. Printing of documents will continue until next Feb. It is possible what remains of the hard copy documents will go to Bicester & printing will be contracted out. (When you order a document they have to print it to order, that is why genuine documents these days have appallingly poor quality of pictures & look like photocopies, for that is what they are.)
  11. I thought Blandford training was going to move to a new Joint Service training establisment in South Wales.
  12. Yes, well done it is. But how does it work & who was meant to use it?
  13. No significance in there being two side by side. There would be a number of these installations in a row. The diagram is just to show one ready for immediate use, the other is to show how it should be covered after use.
  14. 1. I think royalty would demand something rather special particularly considering the proximity of an identical facility. 2. Not used for taking samples for tests.
  15. Good idea but nope. How can I put it, the design of this type of latrine has a fundamentally significant difference from a standard latrine.
  16. Yes, you are quite wrong. Ingenious modus operandi but on the wrong beam.
  17. Yes well done. But it of a special construction & only to be used by certain people.
  18. You'll have to talk amongst yourselves, I'm off to a show. When you identify this thing, it is not just an ordinary thing, it is a special thing. A thing only to be used by certain people, which distinguishes it from the more normal thing. Oh I have I given too much away?
