  1. An interesting one, hadn't thought of that but nope it isn't.
  2. Bit blurred I'm afraid but I don't want to give the game away. The item on the right was on a white background but it seems the type on the left could be in up to 6 different colours. So what are these & how were they used?
  3. Well I scanned them all last night, started resizing, the PC went strange on me & it was all gawn. So scanned it all again tonight, I was going to reduce the file size further by taking out the colour, but I think the sepia tones add to the experience of 1883. This drill seems somewhat complex but no doubt practice made perfect. It would be impressive to see an escalading troop go through their routines in period at uniform at say W&P. No guns need be used but just a display of skill at ladders.
  4. Yes I think I saw an Ikara there, which is a seaborne missile. I also remember Malkara which was from Australia as well but was a vehicle launched anti-tank guided missile.
  5. Jamie DBG was only available as a vehicle finishing paint in high gloss. There was admittedly a DBG semi-gloss but that was a marking paint not a vehicle paint. There was a DBG matt but that was for guided weapons & missiles. There was also a DBG miscellaneous paint classed as solar heat reflecting, DBG fire resistant coating for wooden items & DBG versions for bridging equipment & ammunition. So I would stick with high gloss.
  6. Sorry I meant they had it there at the rally not as a museum exhibit. I remember it in particular because part of their kit they had on display was a canary cage. At the bottom of the cage was an oxygen cylinder to revive the canary! I'm not sure whether this was because the lads down in the pit would be upset if their little mate was sacrificed or whether the NCB only allow them say one canary a year & it was to save buying another!
  7. Wayne I don't know where it would be these days. They had a couple of Swingfires, some Rapiers & a Mk 1A Malkara. I was there 20 or so years ago, it was an emergency services rally. It was in the days when we had a National Coal Board so that must be going back, anyway they had a Mines Rescue vehicle there I remember.
  8. Ok Bernard I know you like to follow things up, I'll post the procedures up but it does seem rather complicated for a straightforward assault with ladders. I'll do some scanning.
  9. Yes you can certainly sleep contented tonight & that was the man who was ready to get his coat!
  10. Sorry Alec game over, you shouldn't spend so much time on that Shorland thing. I have two more MOs up my sleeve though
  11. Well done Andy I knew this would be up your street. Yes it is indeed LADDERS!
  12. No I'm not coffin, but you will when you find the answer.
  13. I see what you mean but this isn't the real purpose of this equipment. Some of you may not be aware that I have a modern equivalent of this equipment here. Andy you might have even seen something similar. This may or may not help.
  14. It could be I suppose but not the intention.
  15. No archery. Another clue coming up.
  16. Plausible but this is for fighting.
  17. Sounds as if could be, similar movements required. But this procedure is for troops in action.
  18. There are some daft games around, but no this procedure is for warfare.
  19. Pay attention Bernard, they are pushing little black boxes.
  20. Hmm yes best not to go there. I'm surprised it hasn't triggered the resident advert software to come up with some retail options.
  21. This might help or might give rise to unwarranted speculation.
  22. Could well work as this provides a very secure grip, but this a land based activity.
