  1. Ooops indeed Wayne :-D Don't worry I took pictures of all three contract plates. It is 06 BK 36
  2. Not an airborne item Wally, this is very much a water thing.
  3. Not really Lee if I have googled it correctly :-D
  4. It is tempting to think that Lee, but it is used vertically as in the drawing.
  5. It is coded also as 16E22791. I have 16E which is the RAF Vocab for Mechanical Transport Electrical Equipment. It is a weighty book of over 600 pages it is dated 1954 & unfortunately does not go up as far as 22791. It has quite a few 24v dynamos the nearest to G7B24-7X is G5524-2X used in some AECs, Scammells & Thornycrofts. I have a CAV dynamo booklet unfortunately it only goes up to G7A24 but the 24 bit is as one might guess relates to the voltage output. The suffix I think relates to the enclosure. The ventilated G7A24 is rated at 55A & the enclosed version at 40A. Sorry I can't pin it down but that looks like the sort of application & being ventilated like that is not an AFV sort feature.
  6. I think Wally one could even use it for that, but that's not its proper purpose. This may cause even more speculation but the reins are not for horses.
  7. I can see the line of thinking with the reins, but it would be a bit wide at the front for that Jerry.
  8. That was unusual Wayne. I trust you have photos & looked at the chassis plate for the ERM so I can see if it is a "known" one. :-D
  9. My pleasure if I can lead someone towards Humberism & save a vehicle. I find it disappointing that there is so little interest in this iconic range of British vehicles derived from the 1950s.
  10. Nope Wally it is very much a front line piece of equipment. You only need one of these & it is used by just one man.
  11. I like the whole of the FV1600 range. The FV1601/2 tends to get a bit neglected & many people assume a mention of Humber 1 Ton means Pig, but not necessarily. It is worth noting that the only FV1601 at War & Peace won the overall best post-war vehicle award :-D
  12. You were right the first time Wally, it is used vertically.
  13. Very warm again Wally its not for diverting water as such.
  14. Tim I have a lot of VAOS but not MT4. I have lost my search facility that required two CD drives to run simultaneously. Since the great PC crash & my unfortunate migration to Windows 8.1 & partitioning the drives it says the system is incompatible with W8.1
  15. Wally very warm indeed but the item is the thing itself, it is not part of another thing.
  16. Yes Lee it is indeed. But how is it used & why? Why would you only need one?
  17. LV6/MT4 is the VAOS Section for common electrical stores for 'A' vehicles. Sorry doesn't narrow it down very much.
  18. Army thing Wally, not those things but it does get wet.
  19. No idea Tony, I never mentioned an Ardvark
  20. Well picked up on that clue Andy. It is indeed to do with water as one might expect from an Otter, but not dams as such that is more of a Beaver thing
  21. We are only halfway there! Is that an answer? :-D
