"Input/output Porthole for communications/power cables installation." Is covered in AESP 2320-D-128-811 Mod Instr No.8, if on-line searches show nothing I can post odd extracts but a bit difficult at moment at WPR.
Clive
Many thanks, will try a search and FOI, there is no hurry had the vehicle for a year and parts for a month

13 metres could be the height above sea level. according the Wikipedia: Elevation 0–42 m (0–138 ft)
(avg. 14 m or 46 ft)
Never thought of that as I assumed the annotation for height would be in feet as linear is marked in feet
-
I can remember using these glasses once at a display at a University.
Many thanks for the answers, I am curious what the 13 metres is for as well
Would there be a manual for these codes

Thinking of transport, where are you roughly

We came back from the Loire and stopped at Pegasus Bridge on the way to the ferry. My 16 year old son picked up a book called "the Day The Devils dropped in", about D Day to D + 6.
In it was a photograph marked up the analysist's comments and my son asked what the marks meant, no indication in the book.
Can any one help.

Some are dark brown and some are tan but with wear they all lighten.
Could the difference in colour be due to one ageing and being in sunlight?

Guys,
Thanks for the comments feel getting a bit confused, i have asked my friend to show the info on the Bugatti site for comments
-
From the DVLA website (Google is your friend):
"A rebuilt vehicle can keep its original registration number if you can prove you’ve used:
- the original unmodified chassis or bodyshell (car or light van)
- a new chassis or monocoque bodyshell of the same specification as the original (car or light van)
- the original unmodified frame (motorbike)
- a new frame of the same specification as the original (motorbike)
You must also have 2 other major components from the original vehicle from the following lists.
For cars or light vans:
- suspension (front and back)
- steering assembly
- axles (both)
- transmission
- engine
For motorbikes:
- forks
- wheels
- engine
- gear box"
Andy
Many thanks, get 2 seconds of streaming on internet here so could look properly
- the original unmodified chassis or bodyshell (car or light van)
-
Met a friend of mine who has a Bugatti and a member of that club, they have advised the DVLA are insisting that if you replace a chassis or restore a large part of the vehicle with replacement parts.
Has anyone else heard this or can prove it's incorrect.
If true i assume it could affect a lot of vehicles and possibly provenances

Yes well done Richard I knew you would come up with some specialist knowledge
Although these extra items crept in unexpectedly, it important for us in the fields here to identify, defuse & dispose of them in a safe manner to avoid entanglement after the cooling off period.
From a strategic point of view it is worth remembering that a battalion will produce 4.5 cu ft of this type of material per day, that needs to be rendered safe. This is important from a health point of view, but operations of a covert nature could be jeopardised if proper attention is not paid to proper concealment or disposal of the stuff. I think I remember being told that the SAS carry their material with them rather leave any evidence of their prescence.
I knew we should have been worried where your mind was going, looking for the box set of Dads Army right now
-
Yes I sometimes wonder whether to buy the whole box set & renounce my TV license, then be guaranteed something to watch on Sat night.
I notice nobody has attempted to guess the subject of the "grainy black and white photo" which is again thermal but using a B&W filter.
After the colour photo I think we all were wondering what your mind was up to
-
It's worrying where Clive's mind goes to when no Dads Army

There is a basic resemblence to a roofers burner to heat roofing felt so it will stick down
-
A UFO? Death-Ray? Or an artistically photographed ignition coil?
Honestly Clive, you've plummed new bizarre depths with this one.... :nut: :-D
Alec.
Maybe a workshop experiment gone wrong

The RAC recovered my Landie AND a Sankey the year before last when I lost the engine down in Hampshire. They sent out an RAC recovery unit who loaded the Landie on and tried to hook the Sankey on the back with a special hitch. Unfortunately the Sankey ring was too thick for the hitch and even if it hadn't been the nose would have been way too low. So they sent out another recovery unit to load the Sankey onto. No additional cost either.
Beginning to think when calling recovery, I am with AA, and some car insurers, if broken down I have a trailer as well, NATO hitch, ring diameter xxx, this is larger than civilian round hitchs

Will go through pictures to give a picture, hopefully

This is a question which may or may not take off.
My Daughter is looking at possible drawing "flash's", company badges, for her third year university assessment, as those we have seen at Bovington tank Museum, can any one help? as an RNR my kids know and appreciate the value in relation to our Forces, she is looking at the possibility of making the logos into jewellery with profits going to forces charities.
