A litle help please i am trying to to find any info on jeep cj8.s that were trialed by the US army in the early 80s in particular any pics so i can see what mods from standard and fittings that may have been used. I am restoring one and would like to restore it to the same spec.

Flag are there any left how big are they? how much? any pics?

having read the dumb things you have been asked thread i would like to ask you all about the austin k2 ambulance in the film ice cold in alex it clearly seems to be four wheel drive ? But i have never seen one at a show or in a book they all seem to be two wheel drive Can you give any info on this.

i actually work for a scrap merchant who has the sole mod scrap contract we rarely get whole vehicles but it happens whole vehicles tend to go to auction [withams ] and the like if such a thing were to come in as a tank it would come in as oversize brunning and it would not be parted out it would be gas axed up engine and transmission would just be torn out by machine as soon as the the roof structure was burnt off and we have no problem with tracks it all goes no probs strangely chieftain/challenger tracked come in 3ft lengths but [cvrt?] scorpion comes in rolls at the mo i am fairly sure we pay 200 a tone to the mod for that kind of scrap price is tendered i think but with the amount of aluminium and brass i would think we are very happy not to mention all the nos parts that simply get destroyed its a very sad thing but you will have to dig deep guys we send containers to india as well as china............now you will all hat me i better shout incoming and hit the dirt

i find them from time to time and at the mo i have half a dozen of the US style ones and a normal nato from a truck 6 bolt fixing.

Reading this thread from first to last i can see that all bases seem to have been covered but the biggest problem is apart from being busy is he may have drowned in all the advise. A friendly extra pair hands is where the solution lies methinks

Hello folks i have been reading here a while now and wanted to say hi to you all. this a bit of a leap of faith for me as i have had a life long love of green machines but never had the funds/opportunity to buy one . i have owned several dodge w200 crew cabs and diesel blazers over the years but i don't really think they count. i have been involved with jeeps for years and currently own 3 cj8,s and they are very thin on the ground possibly one of the rarest models . after 26 years in the motor trade [mainly hgv 4x4 and plant] i got made redundant again and decided to hang up the spanners as a trade and now drive a hgv. my hope full aim is to get a m715 ambulance or maintenance truck at some point but we will just wait and see. so please bear with me if i talk rubbish and ask dumb things i have thick skin so you won't offend me. you guys have some fantastic machines and the knowledge collectively is staggering this does really seem a fountain of help. i have mumbled on long enough so once again hello folks.
