  1. Hi Tom, If you speak to your shipping agent they should be able to offer you insurance. Kevin
  2. I am looking at having some old style square profile nuts made, with a metric thread so that aesthetically they will look correct. I will be having some 8 & 10mm made, is there any interest from anyone else? I have been given a price of approx £1.40 each, I appreciate that's expensive but it does give another option for people that want the 'authentic' appearance. Kevin
  3. Hi Retreiver and Mark, I have pm'd you both.
  4. Does anyone have any 10.50 x 16 tyres available? Thanks Kevin
  5. Hi Tim, have you tried Wildenberg in Holland? Kevin

  12. Hi Adrian, thanks for your time, tour and tea today, accompanied by some good folk, plus a good excuse to take the MW out! Kevin
  13. Hi All, I have just picked up on this thread, if the weather is ok I will break out the MW for the visit, would be a nice little run from Felixstowe. Kevin
  14. Hi Richard, Have you sorted out collection for your canvas? If not I may be able to help, I am 5 mins outside Felixstowe and in the dock most days. Kevin
  15. That's a real shame, but unfortunately all good things must come to an end, let's hope somebody else will be willing to take up the mantle, however unless plans are already in place I can't see it happening next year due to the sheer size of the task, (but I hope I am wrong) Kevin
  16. Hi Howard, Is that the correct fuel tank for the truck? The reason I ask is that access to the filler looks nigh on impossible with the body in the correct position, unless of course there is more space above the tank than the picture shows. As you say the tin work will require a bit of fettling Kevin
  17. Hi Howard that's a cracking looking truck, there was a nice one in Guernsey this year. Looking forward to seeing the finished article, Ps Are you always that regular after a coffee or was it because you were strapped up😀 Kevin
  18. Hello Guy that is a fantastic restoration, it has to be one of if not the best one I have seen, a real credit to you. did you manage to find replacement windscreens or did you have them made, if so could you tell me by who? best Regards Kevin
  19. Just an update on the steering wheel, I have now sourced a replacement wheel for the truck, thanks to all concerned offering help etc, however it seems that the steering columns differ in size as two of the three wheels I now have are a different boss size, these may be off a MW or OY, but I am reliably informed that the non fitting wheel was removed from a QL, so the question now would be can anybody supply any dimensions of the steering columns for the above mentioned vehicles, my column measures as follows - 25mm diameter at the bottom of the taper, 22.1mm at the top of the taper, the height of the tapered section is 29.5mm plus the threaded portion of 12.9mm (height) the key width is 4.9mm, all measurements were taken with a vernier gauge so should be accurate! Kevin Goodwin
  20. Hi Phil thanks for the offer, another member had suggested you, and I have just sent an email to you prior to reading this post! regards Kevin
  21. Thanks for the potential offers, I will measure the steering column and post the sizes, hopefully to save people any wasted time. many thanks Kevin
  22. Yes it would have given a clue, unfortunately neither wheel had a Center cover, if you have something to suit that would be great! regards Kevin
  23. Hi all, I recently tracked down a replacement steering wheel after two years of searching, having compared the rim size and Center to the old one I set about removing the old wheel, the old wheel was in such a bad state that it didn't survive the removal process! I offered up the new wheel only to find the dimensions of the hole in the wheel Center are smaller than the steering column! Somewhat cheesed off as the new wheel looked identical and was sold as a Ql wheel, I think it may be for a Mw instead. I am now in the unenviable position of having no steering! Can anybody recommend a engineering company who may be able to machine the Center to the correct dimensions bearing in mind it is tapered hole and has a keyway or alternatively does anybody have a correct wheel to fit? any suggestions are welcome regards Kevin
  24. I have only just seen this thread, what a fantastic truck and top restoration, very impressive
